Your favorite pizza toppings

Mushrooms, bell pepper, and black olives for me. Not a big fan of meat on pizza, myself, but The Missus favors sausage in addition to the above

It's been ages since I had one, but there was one place in the Old Neighborhood that used to make a killer "white pie" - white sauce, cheese, spinach, and fresh garlic

More times than not, just a plain pie is just the prefect slice... keeping in mind that this is New Jersey and Pizza Hut, Dominoes and Papa Johns ARE NOT places considered into my post :)

Word

With all of the Real Deal Italian pizza parlors to be found in New Jersey (easily 25-30 within a 20 minute drive of my house, just as an example) I'm absolutely amazed that any of the chains can survive here at all. The dough is generally way too sweet, and the sauce tastes like it came straight out of a Ragu jar :scowl:

Another favorite of mine is a specialty pizza from a small pizza place I used to work at. It's called the 'Chicago Fire' and has sausage, Italian beef, and hot Giardiniera. I also mixed some crushed red pepper in with the sauce before I put it in the oven.

There's a place around here that offers a "Crawfish Pie".

It's features their hot sauce (in place of marinara), mushrooms, green onions, garlic, tasso ham, and crawfish tails covered in mozzarella.

They also have a "Baked Potato Pie" which has mashed potatoes and sour cream as the base with green onions, bacon, broccoli, and cheddar on top.

Both are favorites of mine.

They do a good pizza margherita too.

Favorite pizza has to be mushroom proscuitto, cant beat that and its not as unhealthy as most are...

Only one i really hate is pineapple! IMO this has nothing to do on a pizza!

I tried a full english breakfast pizza recently and it was pretty nice!

sausage, bacon, egg and mushroom!

And why do you americans call a pizza a pie? A pizza is a Pizza and a pie is a pie!!!

I like the classic tomato pie from Frank Pepe's.

My favorite is the white clam pie. Fresh clams, garlic, oregano olive oil. Sublime.

What about Sicilian pizza?

i think you have to be from the northeast to get sicilian.

toppings...

green olives, onions, shrooms, roasted garlic, tomato slices (fresh or sun-dried), peppers, spinach, roasted eggplant, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, zukes, pine nuts, broccoli and cauliflower...

any combination will make me happy. with red pepper flakes sprinkled on top!

...and its dinner time...

Sally's, not Pepe's. ;)

Actually, both are killer. Tried to get to Wooster St. last week on my east coast jaunt, but got stalled at a killer clam shack along the way.

Sally's or Pepe's? It is a life-long (and tasty) debate, although Pep's has gone downhill since opening the new places.

Was the clam shack The Clam Shack by any chance ?
