Anyone remember the Horta?
After that episode, one of my friends offered possibly the worst pun I've ever heard:
"All they really needed was a Horta-Culturalist."
I think I screamed at the sheer awfulness and brilliance of it.

This episode had the best Bone's quote of all time!
"Dammit Jim! I'm a doctor, not a brick layer!!"
That's the one! From the greatest episode ever! Even better than the Tribbles!
Same actor yes, different character though. This was before he was Ambassador Sarek of Vulcan.

It was the episode that started a whole Dr Leonard Mcoy cult when he said "I'm a doctor not a bricklayer."
It's the bottom of the ninth, two runners on, Sergio Romo is on the mound and the Giants are ahead by one run. That's when my wife says "Honey the toilets clogged." That's when I say "I'm a bassist not a plumber."
Yep, they would get my vote, especially pre-Hugh.
Q was a pretty good villian, in an evil, all knowing, all seeing way. Except when he was human, of course.

Enterprise-Can't say the series never gained any steam for me.
In films if I had to pick 5 I'd have to go with Kahn, General Chang, the Borg Queen and Nero
and as an honorable mention .. the mirror universe Odo & Spok..

Harry Mudd... Totally... David Gerrold was the Tribbles guy (author). Wrote a fabulous book with Larry Niven 'The Flying Sorcerers'. My intro to Larry ... I consider that book a gateway drug... To ironic, silly and fun fantasy. Still a major fan, 40 yrs later.
There's a Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA. I've always wondered if that's where they got the name.
I don't consider the "whale probe" or the Horta to be villains.
They were just hanging out, doing their thing and people got in the way..
