This. I have four also, and use them in combinations from 1-4 and they always sound awesome. More booty in these than any of the other cabs I've tried - and that includes the Bergs...

Yeah I thought I was pushing the weight a bit, due to the compact shape they just seem so darn light. Four sure out weight my Berg HTT322, but I'd rather schlep the Aggies any day - four fit easily on my rock n roller cart with head and sundry gear.

It's both the size and the balance relative to a well-placed handle - surprisingly easy to schlep until the weight catches up with you after a while.

An update: I ended up going with an ML112 from Roger Baer. He is very easy to work with, and after a few emails, I called him up and placed an order for one of the prototype NAMM cabs that he had in the shop. I expect it to ship out this week, and it should arrive about the time my fretless shows up, so lots to look forward to. Thanks to all who contributed here, and I will update with pics/a review when possible.

I was also on the fence about a 112 as of late. I ended up picking up a DNA DNS112N and am very very very pleased with the cab. Sounds just as described in this thread.

After ordering, Amazon sent me a note showing some other cabs on sale and I also ordered an Eden EX112. For under $200, how could I refuse?

In any case, the DNA 112N is a very deep and loud cab. I have had all Eden cabs (for the most part) and I will most likely only keep the 212XLT for now. I do expect to get another DNA 112. They are nice and light and sound excellent. I like not having the Eden coloration. I can easily EQ in more mids via the amp or bass if / when needed.

The Neo 12 used in most typical cabinets is an OEM modified deltalite. You're talking at most half the displacement of a 3012LF (or Duke's OEM driver with excursion equal to a 3012LF).

DNA appears to be using Kappalite-based drivers, so who knows with them.

Genz' 1288 actually seems to be using a kappalite-based driver, so probably close there!

None of Berg's single 12s use kappalite-based drivers.

Bottom line, you won't get the same power handling or sensitivity out of a conventional 12. That includes the GK Neos, the Genz Neox, the Berg AE112, etc.

Being in the UK, if you want a good Super 12 or other high-performance bass cab, check out Barefaced Bass. They do their own high-powered 12" + mid driver cabs, as well as some ultralight and quite small 12" and 15" punchboxes.

You don\t hear much about them, but the Mesa PH112 sure is a sweet little cab. I just bought a pair and could not be more pleased. Very well balanced tone with good low end and an open clear tone with lots of mid content without being overly hyped in any frequency.

I hate no idea what is in the HT112ER or HD112 but it is absolutely not a 3012LF. They are both non-Neo speakers from what I can tell.

I sincerely doubt either one would come within 50% of the power handling of a 3012LF and the dispersion of course will be inferior. The sensitivity, well, I have no idea. I doubt it's 97db all the way up though, with the -3db rating of 40hz in that size box. If the -3db rating is in fact say, a -10db rating, then maybe (but again doubtful).

I'd expect a Thunderchild to get at least 3db louder than either the HD112 or HT112ER. A 3012LF-based cabinet should get as loud while going lower and having the ability to take bigger transient peaks.

The Berg HT112ER and the new HD112 use the same non-neo eminence driver. Not sure of the model, but it is a wumper.

I have not heard the HD112, but the HT112ER has nice low end extension, and a bit of a low mid bump that makes it sound fat and big. I found that the HT112ER can pretty much keep up with the 3012LF-based cabs that I own in max volume and at least perceived low end. It is in a different league than other production 112's IMO and IME.

I use a Glockenklang Space Deluxe cabinet for home practice and smaller/quieter venues. I've A/B'ed this cabinet against the Aguilar, Bergs, and Mesa just b/c I was bored and thought I would get something different. At the end of the day, the Glock came home and the others remained at the store. However, I am curious about the new Berg HD112 and the DNA DNS-112N.
