My first bass was a Westone Thunder 1. Had it for 8 years and then someone lent me a Fender Jazz for an evening. :-(
I got rid of the Westone as quickly as I could, it hadn't occured to me you didn't have to spend a whole gig fighting with the neck!!

I had a similar adventure. I played my Crestline like it was a Stradivarius until I played another guy's Fender Jazz . When I moved away to college, I went to a pawn shop to buy a case for the Crestline, the pawnshop clerk sold me a case that unknowingly had a Fender Jazz in it.

Karma took over, Earl-style, and that bass was stolen from my drummer's house. His parents' insurance paid me enough to buy a Music Man Sabre that I kept for over 20 years.
