Cincinnati sports have to be the king of choking. Reds were up 2-0 in this latest series. A wasted season in my mind anyway. Bengals perenially suck out loud. They choked on their only super bowl appearance, etc. Royals left town years ago....

I had just gotten back in town and literally sat down in my dad's living room during the Bruce at-bat. I have to say, that was inpressive. Good luck to the G-Men.

I didn't think they even had a chance against the Reds. I see the NLCS as STL-San Fran with San Fran winning. As deep as STL's lineup is, and it will be a magnificent series, I see SF as better.

In the AL, I see Detroit and NY with NY winning. Gotta say.

There's only one team referred to as G-Men, and they play in NY!

GO NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS!!!

Tough loss for the A's. Great team that had to beat all the other teams and their own ownership to get where they did. Lowest payroll in baseball and still made the playoffs. Congrats to the A's on a great season.

Same feeling i have about A's as i had last year for 9ers. Didn't make it all the way, but damn that was amazing to watch. It's awesome to be happy even after your team is out.

If they don't sell all the players next year its going to an awesome year again.

ONE STRIKE AWAY FROM DEFEAT, THE CARDS DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

When I started listening to the Cards - Nats deciding game on ESPN's internet stream, the Nats were leading 6 - 0 in the 3rd inning. No playoff team in history has overcome a deficit of 4 or more in a final series game. So I tried to concentrate on a book while the game continued. Things got better. 7 - 5 in the ninth. With one strike left in the game, Molina walked. With one strike left in the game Freese walked. The career backup and 7th place batter, Descalso hit a single the tied it 7 - 7. With two strikes, Pete Kozma, the rookie emergency replacement when Furcal was lost a month before hit a single to give the Cards a 9 - 7 lead. Closer Motte flailed away for the last out and then challenged the beginning of the of the Nats batting order, setting them down 1 - 2- 3, not throwing a ball until there were two strikes on the last batter.

Wow, glad I stuck with this game. Born in St. Louis, I'm a lifelong Cardinals fan and am enjoying the playoffs so far.
