I'm also curious how bad Jeter's ankle fracture is. Will he be the same after he heals? A lot of guys with foot, ankle, and knee injuries end up being a bit slower after the recover.

I don't remember how long his contract was for, but I don't think he'll be signing a renewal after this one's up. An injury like that, unless he recovers 110%, is a career shortener, if not ender with how long he's played for them.

Yanks and Tigers ALCS Game 2, player of the game: 2B umpire Jeff Nelson for his 2 RBIs in the 8th.

Remerber this:

Jeffrey "Jeff" Maier (born September 24, 1984) is an American baseball fan best known for an incident in which he was involved as a twelve-year-old at a baseball game, when he deflected a batted ball in-play into the Yankee Stadium stands during Game 1 of the 1996 American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. His action altered the course of Game 1,[1] as the resulting home run allowed the Yankees to tie the score. They would go on to win the game and that series, four games to one.

The Tigers Starting pitchers have given up 5 runs in 48 innings this post season, and have thrown 29 1/2 straight shutout innings. Yep he blew the call, the Tigers still win the game. Two games up, three straight at home with Verlander starting game three. I like our odds.
