Yeah that whole game was ugly for the Redbirds. Glad Scutaro was OK, though. Holliday got so much flak for the rest of the game for that (our seats were in the LF bleachers). But even to a Cards fan, he was a bum tonight... :atoz:

On to STL for the next three :D

We were at that Buster Posey game, too (if I got the reference correct). That was terrible. It's remarkable the year he's had after coming back. Of course, I hope it ends sooner than later :smug:

Not sure how healthy Scutaro is. His X-rays came back negative but now he's getting an MRI. He was taken out of the game in the 6th inning for hip pain. Boy, SF will have a hard time getting to the WS without him.

Tigers play tonight with Verlander on the mound. Here's hoping he goes 9 innings and keeps Valverde out of the game.

Hopefully my Yankees can turn things around starting tonight, been a very sluggish start so far for them in the post season series. Also everyone can say what they want however I wish Derek Jeter a speedy recovery, despite him playing for the Yankees the guy is a class act and great player.

It should be a good series with our without Scutaro. The Cards showed us what they have on Sunday and the Giants never say die attitude came through as well. On Monday you got a look at what we can do if we have good pitching. Yup I hope Scutaro is okay and he will be really missed if he is not, but he is not the only talent on the team. I predict a lot of back and forth games. If Lincecum continues to pitch well in his start and Cain finds his stride the Giants will be tough.

If anyone watched Lincecum's body language when he's come in as a reliever it's very much a pissed off, "I can't believe I'm coming out of the bullpen" type vibe. And I think that's what he needs to carry with him to tonight's start.

He's had a shockingly poor season given his tools and past success and I think his best bet is to go out let it rip.

Verlander looked great last night. Detroit is going to have a great shot at a World Series title regardless of who wins the Cards/Giants series.

Should be interesting.

Both starters have had sub-par seasons, especially given past performance. But it's a small sample size, so stats aren't going to help predict the outcome. NTM, with Beltran out and effectively Posey and Pence non-contributors, both teams are shorthanded offensively.

Let's go Waino!

SWEEP!!!

Tigers starters have given up 7 runs in 68 innings of pitching, and every starter has gotten into the sixth. The Tigers have the best Starting pitching in the game no doubt, and starting pitching is key in the post season. The bullpen will be the big question mark going into the Series but they do have the best hitter and best pitcher in the game. Four more wins!

Yeah, not excited about that prospect. Looking VERY strong going into the WS and SF and STL are going to beat each other up to the very end.

All I can think is that the Rangers were supposed to be impossible the last couple of years...

It's not Detroit's pitching, it's New York's complete lack of offense...

Jeter was hitting .415 in the postseason until the injury, and Raul was hitting clutch, that was about it. Now there's no Jeter, Cano (their most reliable hitter behind Jeter) can't seem to make contact, Granderson's dropped, and Rodriguez has been playing sub-par for the past three years. As much as I love the Yanks, tonight's results weren't surprising.:rollno::rollno::rollno:

If we play the Cards, it's going to be a harder series than if we played the Giants, IMO. The Cardinals math up better against us and have plenty of post season experience. It's not over until we win the 4th game no matter who we've beaten. We still have to beat someone else in 7 games. GO TIGERS!

Sorry but Detroit's pitching definitely had a say in how the Yankees batted. They're a good group of pitchers and they've done this a lot this season.
