Which force is greater? The Giants ability to come back from behind in a series, or the Cardinals ability to pull improbable come backs at the last possible moment?

Yes ! We will find out tonight if it doesn't rain. It has stopped for right now and the sun is coming out. Come on sun! It's going to be an exciting game.

A great quote...
"The Giants don’t mean to do this. They’d love a sweep, they’d love a break from torture. But this is who they are in 2012. They overcame season-ending injuries to Brian Wilson and Freddy Sanchez, Pablo Sandoval’s DL stints, Melky Cabrera’s suspension, the Dodgers attempt to buy a title. Then they came back to topple the Reds and now the Cardinals, two very talented teams."

Yep.

The only reason the Tigers are favored is because they swept the Yankees, who are ESPN's favorite to win it all every year. They're the Dallas Cowboys and the Notre Dame of baseball. No matter how good or bad they are, they'll still make headlines. The Tigers beat them in 4 games and so they should win it all.

IMO, the Tigers are the underdog simply because the Giants have all the momentum and the Tigers have had the week off. It's hard to jump start from doing nothing to playing at the level where you HAVE TO WIN. I honestly think it's going to be a pitcher's series. 3,5, maybe 7 hits a game by each team. Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, and Sanchez will be strong but the Giants will keep our bats looking for hits.

This World Series will be a series that will probably only be enjoyed by those who truly love baseball as a numbers game, not a home run derby.

Congratulations to the Giants for gutting it out.
As for the Series, the pitching staffs match up well. But, it's going to depend on who delivers in any given game. The pitchers who do what Barry Zito did the other day are going to make the difference.
The Tigers will be cold for Game 1. But I give a slight advantage to the Tigers for the Series. Play ball!

Fixed again, ouch!

Was waiting for that... As long as you don't forget we're tied now.

As heartbreaking as it is to see your team go from hot to ice cold when it matters, the Cards were never supposed to be in game 7 of the NLCS this year. No Pujols (who?), no La Russa, rookie manager, terrible at close games all season, made up wild card spot, trash-inducing calls going their way and of course down 6 runs in a deciding game. So given all that, I can be proud of what they did and excited for next year.

And I'm all for Leland and the Tigers.

The Cards are a great orgnization with great fans who know baseball. They have nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm more than happy with how the Cards have performed this year. Though it's disappointing that they screwed the pooch on the last game before the world series, they still got farther than I think anybody expected.
