Yep, the Dodgers are on fire. Even my wife likes to watch all the Dodger games on TV and she is normally not interested in sports at all. Last nights game between the Mets an Dodgers was great with a come from behind tie in the 9th inning and a walk off win in extra innings. What a contrast from a few years when Mr. Frank McDee-bag owned the Dodgers and he raped the ball club clean of many of it's assets and pride. Yep...the Dodgers are back in full style!

As much as I dislike the Giants, I will not stoop so low as to bash them at this point. I prefer it when the Dodgers-Giants rivalry is alive and kicking...with the Dodgers doing a majority of the kicking, of course...............

Speaking of rivalries, the Evil Empire is coming into Fenway for 3 games. The Sox-Yankees rivalry has cooled a bit since the mid-2000's since there have only been few years when both teams were playoff-bound at the same time and the teams have not met in the post-season since that magical year in 2004.

This year the Yankees finally look old (a prediction that I have been making for at least 5 years now and now, finally, it looks like it might actually come true). The only problem is that the Yanks have been playing well lately and the Sox offense has cooled down. I'm looking forward to the reception that A-Rod will get tonight that should put a little extra juice in the rivalry;), but I am not looking forward to the 4+ hours that it usually takes to play a Sox-Yankees game.

Yes sir that was meant as a compliment and a statement of fact.
I once heard Tommy Lasorda say that he considered it a compliment when Giants fans booed him. I have seen him smile and tip his cap as we booed him.
He was introduced once at a Giants game after he retired. At first there was the automatic boos, but then they were mixed with applause. It was very confusing. :confused: It is mandatory that we boo anyone in blue at AT&T Park. Still Lasorda was a good manager and a good man as well. We wanted to thank him for all the good games.

Yall didnt boo dusty baker though right? all former dodgers who come back as coaches etc usually get 15 seconds of fame on the vid screens & pretty warm reception, esp AZ coach kirk gibson Link Removed

Have fun with him. When he is at his best he walks the first two batters in the inning and then gets the next three batters out, mostly. But sometimes it comes back to haunt him. The more pressure there is the better he does. He will keep you on the edge of you seat biting your nails and drive you crazy. I don't know how many times I have yelled at him "Stop fooling around and throw strikes!" Every one in the stands around me would agree.
He was a big part of the slogan "Giants baseball, it's torture!"

Lets not get ahead of ourselves! ;) Your Braves are certainly going to be one of the top seeds. What do you have, a 15 1/2 game lead in your division?! Pirates have only a 3 gave lead with 41 games left to go. And TWO teams nipping at their heels. I think we'll make the playoffs, but it's far too early to think we'll win the Central.

Oh, and those Dodgers are on FIRE!!!

Royals took both games of a double header against Detroit yesterday! They are up two games to one in the series. It would be awesome if they could take this series from Detroit! Could put them in second place in the division and move them closer to the Tigers.

Miguel Cabrerra had a different take on things today.:D

The Royals may make a run at the wild card, I still think they need a bit more O. But pitching and D will get you a long way in this league. I suspect as a Tiger fan I won't even be checking the division standings in a couple of weeks. And right now they have the best record in the AL.

Oh well, I wasn't expecting the Royals to win every game. The thing that is different about this season is that even when they loose it's usually by a small margin like tonight's 6-5 loss. In years past they would have been a much more lopsided loss.

I live in the D and a life long Tigers fan but I have to give props to Kansas City. For years you guys have always been in last place or close to last place. Glad to see you guys playing decent ball. Even more glad to see the White Sox in last place.

Ouch, that one hurt. A 16 inning loss to Arizona today, and losing the series overall at home. Especially on a day when the Cardinals looked sharp (from what I could tell in highlights) as they won convincingly.

Time to buckle up a little tighter for Pirate fans, this is going to be a wild and crazy August/September. One game lead in the NL East. But hey, I am loving it. I don't even care about the Steelers right now. I even got a couple head nods from Red Sox fans today while I was out and about wearing my Pirates hat.
