Tell you what though listening to ball games in the car is far more informative & constructive for little ones than top40 (people bragging about how wonderful they are or boy problems).
Agreed. If there isn't a game on I'd rather the radio be off...

My son gets a kick out of my wife imitating Sterling and he seems to enjoy how mad she gets when he imitates her imitating the radio! And then if I do it too it's mayhem...

Mariners can really put up a fight though. Being a ranger fan i can say I've seem them put up great games against us.

Yeah the last trip down to Texas was a good one for us. In general though, the Rangers have been beating the snot out of us the last few years. We've stepped up against good teams and then go 1-5 against the Padres and can't seem to get passed Oakland. Very confusing. :rollno:

Oakland has been pretty confusing for us too. We went 1-3 with them in a series earlier this year, and now tied 1-1 in this series.

Whenever my wife complains about me listening to yet another game while we're in the car that's what she makes fun of......"And thuuuuuh pitch...." Even my 5 year old son has picked up on that....it drives her nuts...

My wife likes listening to the game on the radio when she is alone in the car. Ever since she heard John Miller shout "Adios pelota." We have great announcers and John Miller is very funny. He does a great Vin Scully imitation and even imitates Japanese announcers.
If I listen to the game in the car when we are together she just keeps talking. Eventually she will say "Oh are you trying to listen to the game?" Then she will keep quiet for about 5 minutes and the start talking non-stop again.

YANKEES!

In my family, if you don't like the Yankees, you're not a legitimate family member. My wife's side of the family is all from da Bronx.

I can't tell you how many times i got caught trying to sneak into Yankee Stadium as a kid.. We even tried standing on top of the El platform on River Ave. Of course all we could see was a small piece of right field.. and that was before someone called the cops and they came and made is us get down ... as a kid it was exciting.. as an adult having to get home from a hard day's work on game day was a hassle till I moved farther north..

The Tigers ended the first half of the season on an upswing, winning 5 straight and sweeping the Royals. Delmon Young has hit 4 home runs in 4 games and Fielder and Peralta went deep today to beat the Royals 7-1. I'm just hoping we can come out of the gate just as hot after the All Star break.

Huge Red Sox fan here. I probably know more about baseball than I do music, which sad considering I was a theory/performance major. I think the Sox turn its round, finish with 90 or so wins. Injuries have killed them, but they're getting a ton of guys back over the next month or so. I think they make one of the WCs, then who knows what happens...

Cards fan here.

Grew up as a Cubs fan but lost interest in baseball after my parents divorced and then the strike a few years later. I got interested in baseball again during the McGwire - Sosa HR record chase. Didn't have a team but started following Albert Pujols when he was with the Peoria Chiefs (about 20 miles from the town I grew up in) and then moved to St. Louis in 2001.

Now that Pujols is gone I'm still a Cards fan. I'm not as butt-hurt about him leaving as some of my compatriots though.

I could imagine how some of them would be pretty upset. That would be like Miguel Cabrera leaving the Tigers and going to the Cubs. I would be greatly butt-hurt!
