The Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles. Who never fail to make me blue. :bawl: This year has been good, got rocky as of late, but as long as we're above the Giants and on top in the West I can't complain. Especially when living in enemy territory and talking as much trash as I do. :hiding:

I don't recall seeing him on the mound. Actually, being that Ron Washington was the AL manager, he probably wanted to preserve him for the regular season. Kind of a selfish move but he's the boss.

I agree with you. Even as a ranger fan. But I've been hearing that Darvish didn't think he deserved to be there so maybe he had some input on the decision. Another thing to point out, AL was down very early so why tire an ace?

Poor Ron Washington. Tony LaRussa comes out of retirement just to stick it to him.

Again.

Yeah, I can see that too. I'm just glad that Verlander went only one inning instead of the 2 or 3 they had planned him doing. He would be scheduled to pitch the next game against the Orioles but they're skipping him. Sucks too because Verlander usually does good against AL East teams.

Haha.

You know I think its odd that melky got the mvp for the game when he only hit a hr to make it 8-0. I think sandoval should have gotten it for breaking the game open in the first place with his triple, IMO.

You may be right. Who knows how they decide these things. Maybe it was becuase of the controversy around Sandoval starting instead of David Wright.

Probably so.

So who looked strong going into the AS break? I haven't been following as much as I would like. Any teams looking not so stellar that you thought would be doing well?

Anyone hearing trade rumors about their team prior to the August deadline?

For phillies: now that they resigned Cole Hamels looks like they are going to trade Cliff Lee. Also phillies are looking to change their outfield, possibly both Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino. Victorino is likely to be traded to Yankees.

Update - looks like Pence is going to be a Dodger and Phils will keep Lee. We will see what happens this weekend.

I heard the Red Sox are trying to get Hanley Ramirez. I heard that a couple weeks back so I'm not really sure how accurate it is.

No, he's on the Dodgers now--him and pitcher Randy Choate. Choate is older than my grandpa?! Can he does he still pitch? Ramirez can play 3d base & ss for our injured kid dee Gordon (who started off well but has really faded). Ramirez hit a home run last night won the game for us.
I'm lovin it

HA! You can tell I haven't been paying attention to baseball lately. :D

Like Colin cowherd said baseball is great when you're a kid you have all the time in the world to follow it. I rarely get a chance to watch games. I've been to 3 games this season. I was there when we got a triple play. & I was there when padres stole home to win it. Talk about strange things happening. I should go more often-- maybe something else good or bad will happen.
