Looks pretty killer. $389 was the price listed on the website. For that price I could upgrade the Pickups, Preamp, and hardware, and have a pretty nice bass. That's assuming that's where the cost's were cut.
there doesn't seem to be many people on the board who have had a first person feel for these. A couple mixed reactions.

Update:
I got the Grind, and got to play it for one worship set. Heres a little mini review. Maybe I'll post a full blown one when I get some pics.

Tone, Dark, lots of bass. Running thru my church's Peavey BAM 210, the bass sounded thick and full. I had to back the neck pickup almost completly off to get any clarity in the attack. For slap, I soloed the bridge. With both pickups full, there is a real dubby, thumpy tone, with the neck pickup overpowering the bridge pup (or just plain bass overpowering the treble).

Action/feel, the action is real low with no buzz, and the neck is killer thin. Hard to describe the neck profile, almost like a flat C with the edges almost sharp. The string spacing is kinda tight, about 16mm at the bridge.

Construction quality, very good, with the exception of a couple frets. The 23rd and 24th frets need to be hit with a file on the treble side, I'll do that myself. The intonation is also off a little on the G and C strings. I'll take care of that tonight. The rest of the bass is flawless! The nut looks great, the bridge is an impressive string thru body type, and the tuners look like Grover copys. The woods are all great looking, and finished well.

Overall I'm stoked. I wish I could have gotten the Schecter, but not being able to play one first sucked, and it was twice the cash. I think I'm going to keep my eyes open for a set of pickups to throw in there, and maybe a preamp to give me some more versatillity. Maybe it's good I didn't spend a lot on it, since Brice is comming out with a neck thru, wide string spaced 6 in February or so. So for then I'll play the poor mans Cirrus. :)

Chumpy: I wouldn't worry about not getting the Schecter. I played the 5 string version recently and it surprisingly wasn't to my liking. The neck felt too bulky and the tone was good, but not as great as I expected with the 18v EMG pre-amp and EMG-HZ's. I also had the privledge to play the GRIND today and I really liked the way the neck felt. If you are worried about the quality and tone, don't worry. Honestly, the Schecter didn't really have that great of tone...well at least not to justify roughly 2 times the price. I think with a nice set of EMG DC45's and an Aguilar OBP-3 or 1 in there, you'll in every way exceed the schecter. Honestly, I really liked the Grind but was surprised when they said it was made in Vietnam. Its true that the string spacing was really tight. 16mm and you can feel it, but if you don't really plan on doing lots of slapping, it should actually suit most people very well. I think that it either has a lack of active electronics or it just has weak electronics, because I had to stick it through the passive input in the amp I was trying, but overall, I was really impressed with the sound and feeling of the bass. For the ballpark of under $400, I think it's probably a great deal that's ready to be modded. I think a good alternative would have been the BRICE HBX-406, however, if you needed that neck thru design, this was the budget way to go until Kurt can bring us the wide spacing/35" scale/Neck-Thru designed Brices. So long story short...FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOUR DECISION. I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME IN YOUR POSITION...In fact, I just might.
