Your prettiest bass

The funny part is I had no idea who they were until well after I started designing the body. I designed the bass back on Fender American Design Experience (~2014) but never ordered it. I finally got the body custom built by Warmoth in 2018 with all of the specs I had been thinking about for years (ash body, 70’s pickup relocation, custom contour heel, and a dual battery box to support an 18v preamp).

Once I finally pulled the trigger on the body I decided to look up Mastodon and holy crap, they’re pretty good.
 
Maybe not the prettiest, but pretty pretty none the less. Pretty cool sounding also. :bassist:

Thanks. The reverse layout helps with keeping the fat part of the B string off the tuner - on the “2” side, the closest tuner is a bit further out than it is on the “3” side. I built one 5’er the other way, then realized that reverse was better for that.

I think I may have commented on it before, it's one of my favorite basses on Talkbass.
