It'd be my bass, but with a nitro finish and a matching headstock and pearl binding. :)
Incidentally this bass features a prototype 'GAFfer' humbucker in he neck position from wizard pickups. If were to be a sig version I'd have either another in the bridge or an MM style humbucker. :)

The white bass is pretty much it -- the only Sadowsky P5 with an MM-style pickup -- but it's a one-off. To be my true signature bass, it would have an asymmetrical neck profile, which is not available from Sadowsky.

Also, I'd use the Hipshot Ultralight tuners with wide vintage Fender-style posts, as on the Roscoe Beck 5. Hey, it's my signature bass, I'm allowed to be picky! :smug:

Hmm... I nearly have it already, but a different finish and some fancy stuff....

G&L 1500 with an thumb-rest parallel to the E string approximately 2 cm from the neck, 1 cm from the string.

Blackburst finish, matching headstock and a rosewood fretboard with blocks, scalloped from the 15th fret and up.

Hipshot D-tuner and a well shielded control cavity. I don't get why that doesn't come standard on every bass in the medium - high price range.

That ought to do it, but I really don't have any complaints about the one I have (now that it's shielded).

Mine would be a BC Rich Mockingbird archtop in transpurple quilt. White binding around body and neck. Ebony fingerboard with cloud inlays. Two musicman humbuckers. Similar to this but purple with binding.

i actually have one although now i would change the face wood to brazilian rosewood. My first Fodera built in 1983. Vinny actually inlaid my signature on it. Crotch walnut, over swamp ash, ebony board , the electronics have changed a few times over the years. currently sporting 2 split coil hum cancelling pups. handcut g and f clefs on the octaves.

my signature bass already exists. here's the before and after pics.
stock p/j passive - so plain, so redundant, so...eh..normal.

not any more :)
p/HB+preamp+kahler and is now used as my #1

something special about the dual coil tone I just like better than a plain p/j blended. I would have put a nice MM style in it, but I already had a couple Jackson HB's in the parts bin to use.
I also have another bass being repainted/modded ( almost done now ), that mocks the color, p/HB/preamp, just no Kahler.

I really like every bass I own for some reason. They all do something unique and useful that the others can't. If I had a "signature" it would probably be whatever I was playing the most at the time.

At the moment Washburn would be making mine. I've modded my Taurus T24 with Wilkinson jazz pickups, I polished the finish to a gloss, I added Gibson SG witch-hat knobs, flipped the trussrod cover to reveal the white surface and I use Grolsch strap locks. Maybe if it was in vintage white I would like it even more....
