Wowowow! I always wanted a JPJ and I'd LOVE one like that!
They made 3 like this in the last two years, an almost excact twin of mine is currently for sale at the Australian Alembic dealer (last time I looked)
The other one belongs to a fella TB-er (search for 2010 Jason Elan)
Yup, have mine already. Custom Fenderbird. The only thing that wasn't made from scratch (besides the hardware) is the neck. The rest, totally custom. I'm thinking of having another one made in white, with a rosewood 62 Reissue Fender Jazz neck.

That is one cool looking bass. I'd like one with a maple neck with black blocks.

I don't care what'd be in it/what it would look like, but I'd request that they release a bass for <50 dollars, and cut as many obvious corners as possible. Hopefully, this would mean that it would break almost instantly, have a body made of scrap wood, a finish that flakes off upon any contact with anything, exposed wires, and strings that electrocute the player. And I'd want it to have a really unflattering picture of me on the pick guard. And the headstock. And the back of the bass. And the front of the bass. And the horns. And underneath the pick guard. And each tuning head. And I want it sold in Walgreens or some equivalent.

Yamaha RBX 5-string, 24 frets, 34" scale. Mahogany body, 5-piece set neck (maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple) with a rosewood fingerboard, translucent tobacco sunburst finish and a tortoiseshell pickguard. Two Bartolini soapbars wired as volume/blend/tone with a mid boost/cut switch, and a phantom switch that isn't wired to anything. Hipshot hardware all 'round, graphite nut, small frets. Comes with strap locks and a 4" wide leather strap lined with fur, and comes stock with extrs light gauge strings.

Also features:

* MTD-style asymmetrical, wide neck profile.
* 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck construction with double-expanding truss rod and carbon "U"-channel reinforcement
* Vol/Vol/Bass/Treble controls.
* Bridge finished in crackle black with satin nickle-finished saddles, a la early-80's G&L.
* Custom Dual-coil MM5 pickups by DeLano.

The day I finally build my "Deluxe" bass (J-bass with the stacked, concentric controls), I plan to load a set of Invalid Link Removed into it.
Why no other pickup maker has thought of this is beyond me...
Schecter once made a "Hellcat" bass with three of these loaded into it (neck, middle, bridge), and I thought it was one of the best-looking basses I have ever seen.
