I believe it was made at Alembic after closing hours (Shopnight bass)
I'm sure Jean Baudin can tell you more

Gibson Thunderbird

Neck thru, just like the real ones.

White finish, white pickguard, chrome hardware.

2 Thunderbird pickups, none of this P, JJ, PJ or PP combinations.

On/off switch just like Nikki Sixx, but still including the volume & tone knobs.

Drop D tuner.
24 frets, just to be different, nothing on the fretboard, just dots on the side of the neck.

I just realized this is kinda looking like the Shavo Thunderbird that wasn't released, at least from the one pic I've seen of it.

Well, I suppose I have already created my sig bass.

I finally got the sound and feel I always wanted...beefy with a nice growl, that can be highlighted by the way I attack it.

My ideal bass would be a Fender Jazz with:

Olympic White nitro finish
Dark brown tort guard
Maple neck with a dark rosewood fretboard, bound and blocked in pearl
Vintage amber tint on the neck
Gotoh 201 or another slightly bulkier bridge; I just don't like how the factory Fender bridge looks
Fender Custom Shop 60s Jazz pickups or Lindy Fralins
Passive wiring with a series/parallel switch and a separate killswitch (both mini toggles instead of push/pull pots)
Light gauge roundwound strings (DR, D'Addario, or Ernie Ball)

I'd like to have two of those. One would have very light aging performed -- I love the look of the aged neck and aged hardware on the Road Worn series. The other would be fresh from the factory, no aging required.

My signature? I've got two.

Fender P bass
Precision pickup in standard position, MM P'up by the bridge
Seperate volume knobs and a 3-band EQ
Sunburst finish with a tortoiseshell pickguard
Chrome hardware
Precision chrome p'up cover
Maple/maple neck

Fender J bass
Seymour Duncan Classic stacks with the bridge in tthe 70's position
Stacked volume/tone for each pickup
Sunburst finish with tort pickguard
(Here's where my oh so interesting taste comes in)
Cream pickup covers
Jazz bass neck p'up cover
Gold control plate, black bottom knobs, gold top knobs
Black bridge and tuning heads
Gold string retainer and pickguard screws
Oh, and it's fretless maple/ebony

Double neck with a Hagstrom HB-8 on bottom and a Fender Baritone Guitar (also called Bass VI) on top. Seeming thats two different companies making it totally impossible, my realistic option would be the same with a Mustang instead of a Hagstrom. Red with a white pickguard, and Gotoh Res-O-Lites on the bass and Gotoh Stealth keys on the guitar.

EDIT: I had two other models I had planned out, but I don't have enough time to type them out.

I would start with the coco bolo Alembic 5 string Series II that I ordered and have owned since 2000 (in the middle in this picture)

and add some of the goodies they've added to their portfolio since then, starting with a a Balance K body with Heart Omega cutout, like the one pictured in progress here

I'd also go for the side LEDs with different colored LEDs at the 12th and 24th fret positions (mine are amber all the way down the neck) and the beveled headstock edges.

Okay I'll bite. I would want esentially a melding of a Jazz, Stingray, Sterling and of all things an Ovation Magnum.

ebony fretboard, dual trussrods, MOP blocks and cream binding.
Mahogany and graphite neck.
ash body.
Sterling style switching,
musicman vintage style 5 string bridge,
Musicman bridge pickup
ovation style neck pickup or hagstrom/darkstar pickup.
Silver sparkle finish (matching headstock)
headstock tilt back at 7 degrees (like the roland synth bass)
3 band eq
stereo and regular outputs.
built in tuner.

my dream signature bass will be like clover apeiron HP.5 but will be adding with some extra spice
the body ASH with wild woodgrain
the finishing will be natural glossy
black pickguard
the fingerboard will be maple, black blocks binding
the bridge will be kahler or hipshot tremolo
put Detuner, and graphtech TUSQ XL
and roland GK3B MIDI pickup

that will be HOT!!
