your strap and bass from the same company?

This is one of the oddest questions I've seen on TB.
And no. I do not use a strap made by Lakland when I play my... Lakland. Perhaps that's why I sound bad.

What is the best strap for *metal*?
What type of materials might be referred to as "Tone Strap" materials?

I got a Fender monogram strap with my P bass, but to use it would feel like wearing my own bands T-shirt during a performance...just not right. The other real reason I don't use it is because I have a couple thick Levy's that to me feel 100% more comfortable, look 100% better and last just as long, and for what they cost, they better!

Ernie ball nylon black strap with Schaller straplocks. One strap, many sets of strap buttons over the years as I traded instruments. I'm VERY OCD about my strap, it must be slippery Ernie ball, so if a bass has neck dive, I simply won't buy it no matter how good a deal! :D

My strap matched my instrument once because I played a MM Sterling for a while, which matched my strap.

My current bass is black, which matches the colour.

Actually, this is a good game, buying basses according to how they match my £9 strap. It saves on all the endless discussions about tonewoods, electronics and fret size, which also don't really matter that much. ;)

my Warmoths ( w/Fender logos ) have Fender straps ... 1 neo comfort kinda poly thing , 1 Levis made Fender leather ... my PRS has a PRS leather strap ... all are cushioned , all have Dunlop straplocks ... my acoustic/electric has some kind of suede strap ..??!! don't remember , but it's not an Epiphone ..!

I tend to buy Levy's straps as they are a Canadian company and sell for super cheap in Canada. Great quality for the $$$.

I have lots of straps, but my favourite is this 3" Frankln that I got on sale at GC for $29.95. Amazing for the $$$.

I do own Fender straps that cam with my Fender basses, but they are crappy IMO.

I use this one I can't remember where I got it or what the brand is but its held up for over 10 years.
