your strap and bass from the same company?

My AVRI '57 P has a leather "Fender" strap on it. All the others have Levy leather with the exception of my '51 P RI, which has a wide woven strap I bought 32 years ago. The pic shows it on a '63 Gretsch Chet Atkins I bought it for.

Nope. They sure don't.
I have the Fender strap that came with my 1972 Precision.
I bought Reverend straps to go with my Reverend basses, when I had those.

Those were both nowhere near as good as the Italia stuff.

I have an embroidered suede Levis strap that's working great. Only problem is that I play my basses way up high and I have to get creative in order to shorten it.

Yours is very nice too.

Thanks, I play my basses about center waist line. I have one Franklin Strap that was way to long, until I pulled the adjustment strap longer through the back of the strap, then pulled it through. That took off 4 inches that wouldn't have been shortened by the standard process.

It almost seems like they're making straps mostly for punk and metal guys who hang their bass down to their knees. I don't know how any body can play that way.

When I play, I don't rest my arm across the top of the bass body, but I don't have it dragging on the floor. It plays better for me to just about mid. I played pretty high for a few years before readjusting the height, and my arm not resting on the body.

I do have a Rickenbacker strap; I fit it on my 4003, when I got it years ago, but I've never used it. I'm sure it's perfectly fine, but it just strikes me as kinda flimsy. It's around somewhere.. Mostly I use a wide, nicely padded one from the old Ed Roman store here. Seems to work fine on everything..:)
