Your take on being alone?

Sometimes, having people around you can be nice. But for now, I like it a lot that I'm alone :D Can do whatever I want, no one complaining what I do..

That was one big reason why I broke up 2 years ago with my GF : I wasn't allowed to do anything without her... If there is something I really don't like, is when people want to be around me 24/7 :scowl:

I got my things, that I would like to do alone, so would others have. If someone doesn't let me go my own way, then they've got the wrong person on me.

Prefer to live alone and prefer to be single. I like having a lot of friends as I do enjoy being social but once I get my social fix, I need my alone time. On weekends, I like being around people quite a bit. But during the work week, I tend to keep to myself.

I was just wondering how you felt about being alone.

Do you find it to be a state of solitude or loneliness? Or in other words, is it positive or negative to you?

I'd like to get individual perspectives on this, I think it could lead to interesting discussions.

I enjoy quiet and solitude, in fact I much prefer it to being around groups of people. It is when I examine and learn about myself better.

In order of preference:
1) Me and my wife.
2) Only me.
3) Group with no interaction.
4) Small groups with interaction.
5) large groups with interaction.

SO RONERY

I'm definitely in the "I value my solitude/I like to be alone" camp. I could probably go for two or three weeks without talking to another human being and be perfectly happy.

However, I'm married, so I don't really get that opportunity much (!)
I sometimes wonder whether I would feel the same way if I'd actually been alone for most of my life.

Tuesday (11/27) would've been my 8th anniversary except my wife is sending me divorce papers and told me she asked for full custody of our two children. I moved my bass and tascam trainer into the bedroom (she hasn't moved out yet) and put her suitcases in the other bedroom so she can start packing as soon as possible. I have supported her in every way possible yet she doesn't think she is getting enough "fun". She doesn't know the kids pediatrician or dentist, school teachers etc. and because I'm always home they all know me and I bought the house before we got married. I told her the kids will be here and she'll get visitation rights. Then I posted this on my facebook. :scowl:

I enjoy living alone, but having plenty of friends I can visit frequently.

Basically, I'm a very social person, but I like having the option to escape and be in total silence at home.

Me too man, Im an introvert. I love being with friends but i also love being alone whether it is listening to music, playing an instrument, taking a walk in the woods...whatever....im a thinker and i NEED the alone time for my own good.

Most of my family is dead, my best friend killed himself, and my relationships have been unmemorable. I've been alone for most of my life, so I've had *plenty* of "me-time." Believe me, "Me-time" isn't all it's cracked up to be.
