I actually found alot of it to be not so great. They tended to pick the conspiracy nut theories and disprove those (pretty easy) but ignored many more plausable events.

Such as?

I'm not sure what other theories are out there that need debunking.

My problem with American 9/11 conspiracy theorists is that I cannot fathom how people who actually believe their own government staged the murders of 3000 of its own people could possibly continue to live in this country. Honestly, if I truly believed any of it, I couldn't live in the US for another day.

I also have no tolerance for "The moon landing was faked" theorists. It's a slap in the face to the astronauts who died in Apollo 1 and assumes that somehow the hundreds of people involved in "faking" it would be able to keep the affair secret.

JFK conspiracy nuts are just as annoying.

There's very little more despicable than willful ignorance, particularly when you're accusing people of atrocity with absolutely zero evidence.

Just because you want to fix some of the things that are wrong about this country, doesn't mean you don't love it - quite the contrary; dissent has a long history in patriotism.

Just because some choose to be complacent and drink the GOVERNMENT kool-aid, doesn't mean they are any less patriotic. Government hasn't really been of and for the people for some time now, and some of us think we need to take it back. It's now of and for big business. They'll offer Bear Sterns help, but not the hundreds of thousands with failed mortgage families. Don't think some of us aren't noticing.

Also, if you'd like to know how anyone can believe that our country would kill its own in order to have en excuse to wage war, one need only look at the Gulf of Tonkin:

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB132/press20051201.htm

We were apparently ready to kill a ship full of our own troops in order to touch off a war previously.

Open you eyes just a little, and you may not like all that you see.

We aren't talking about dissent or things needing to be "fixed". Apparently you believe that you live in a country where elected leaders will bomb buildings and murder thousands of its own citizens for their own gain. That's not even the same ballpark as dissent, which I personally have plenty of.

Open you eyes just a little, and you may not like all that you see.

Again, not believing conspiracy theories doesn't equate to ignorance, despite how often it is used as a retort to those who disagree with you. It also doesn't imply blind allegiance to the government's official story either. Despite your belief to the contrary, it is possible for an intelligent, rational human being to examine the evidence for themselves and not come to the conclusion that it was a government plot rather than terrorists who were responsible for September 11th. And I dare say I've done as much reading/research on the topic as anyone else here.

what's the difference in murdering 3000 of "our own peolpe" (who happen to be made up of mostly immigrants) or 1,000,000 iraq citizens who never did anything to harm the US?
gotta agree with you there.

However, if 9/11 was a conspiracy it would have to be from the top down. Sorry, but Bush just ain't that smart.

I think the JFK conspiracy has something to it though. That was one 'magic' bullet!

Wow, first it was 10,000, then 100,000, then 300,000, and now I see it's up to 1,000,000!

Why stop there? Why not just say "ONE HUNDRED MILLION IRAQIS WERE KILLED!!?!??"

(N.B. Ever wonder why the only Iraqis trying to kill U.S. troops are allied either with the former Saddam regime, or the current Iranian one, and the rest of the thugs over there are "foreign fighters?" I mean, if the U.S. murdered all these Iraqis, wouldn't the whole country have it in for us, not just the thugs?

(Guess that would be too difficult for you to ponder, though, wouldn't it? Better to just keep addin' zeroes to this mythical "genocide" you people love to concoct).:crying:

you want genocide? what about a government who purposely crams the over-consumption
of crap down our throats, selling us on being pre-occupied with "luxuries", stripping us of our liberties. Not to mention our wonderful education system (why don't they teach about finance and sustainability and family & neighborhood development in school?
killing the spirit of a nation is genocide!
but like all empires...this one will fail...at what cost?
how come we never hear of the "upper elites" dying of AIDS or some mutant virus? it's always the poor who suffer.
how come billions are being spent killing people in Iraq and back home Rec centers and educational programs are being shut down because of no money? then the media blames it on under-consumption...blah blah blah...i'll shut up now..
we can argue all we want, is anyone doing anything? and what is it you're doing?

Report to me in 10 years so that I can judge whether your actions will be successful. I doubt there will be much headway. I agree that action is needed in order to garner change, but to initiate a revolution calls for gathering popular support. This is darn near impossible for conspiracy theorists.

All I see is complaining, but not any acting on your part. Why not sell some of the crapload of music equipment that you own and use it towards a cause you feel would help? Why not preach it to a much larger audience than the two or three detractors on talkbass? Maybe help fund movies like Zetgeist? Dudes like Immortal Technique and Rage Against the Machine spout out a lot of anti-government rants and conspiracy theories, but at the same time they're using what they have (money and their talents foremost), to fight for their cause.

ok... my bad, i think it's around 800,000 now, either way the numbers are growing rapidly & it's all planned and i do believe all of Iraq as well as most of the world pretty much hates the US of A and wishes it would disappear, i know this because i've travel to 23 countries and have heard it all...
why don't you explain what Halliburton is doing over there? and how because of this "war" the world bankers are raking in millions maybe billions (not sure yet) of $$ from the US taxpayers?

yea but the group behind bush is very smart and made up of reps from many nations...the goal is one union one currency one government...

oh yea and don't forget, it was god devine will to have Bush and "family" take control of the world by any means necessary...
