I'm not sure if you are referring to the whole post that you quoted but the last paragraph about the NAU is becoming very true. If you think that is a paranoid delusion you REALLY need to see what going on in the US/Canadian/Mexican gov'ts.
If you think the NAU is anything but a paranoid delusion you need to do some real research of legitimate sources instead of reading the deluded paranoid ramblings of wacked out kooks and looneytune nutjobs on the internets.

I think people that buy into all this conspiracy stuff without questioning it are nuts.

I also think that people who buy into everything you gov't tells you are nuts.

there is a truth in there somewhere.
Here's a rough "back of the napkin" analysis:

What the "government" or major media tells you: maybe 85% accurate. 95%+ of inaccuracies are unintentional.

What the conspiracy fruitloops tell you: barely 1% true. 95%+ of inaccuracies are intentional.

The real truth is not "in there somewhere".

The conspiracy lunatics like the wack-jobs who made this insane video are charlatains and frauds foisting intellectual garbage. Don't fall for it.

Wow, thanks for you're incredibly constructive post:rollno:

I guess the fact that our own gov't opposition parties make this info readily available means nothing. If you email your MP (and one that I know is on the SPP comittee in Parliament) they will put you on their mailing list and actually send you the comittee minutes and updates on the meetings. But hey, I guess I'm just a whackjob:rollno::rollno:

I actually do my research, speak with/email politicians who ARE ON THE COMITTEES dealing with this crap. But hey, it's much easier to call people names on the internet.:rollno:

And I actually thought that some people could actually discuss a film without lowering themselves to name calling. I guess this is why these threads keep getting closed...

Kooky conspiracy Kool-aid sure is delicious, aint it? :smug:

Sure...

Ignorance ain't bliss, it's just ignorance.:smug:;)
That's the greatest thing about kooky conspiracies. People who buy into them have the feeling that they are somehow "in on the secret" and anyone who disagrees with their lunatic insanity is "ignorant". When really the believers in crazy stuff like the "NAU" and the "Amero" have been bamboozled by charlatains like Alex Jones and other hucksters and lunatics peddling their paranoid and insane manifestos. Conspiracy theory plays into basic human nature in many ways, making the "believers" feel superior to the "sheeple" or "ignorant people" or whatever derogatory term they use to describe normalcy.

To borrow from the "Screw Loose Change" blog, which mostly follows the often hilarious keystone-cop like stupidity of the "911 Truth" movement, but also often touches on other loopiness like the insane video in this thread: George Monbiot is credited by SLC with the great quote: "The great virtue of a fake conspiracy is that it calls on you to do nothing."

I've seen it. -and i agree that american mass media servers the "youre not told what youre not suposed to know".

Then how do you know this?

I mean, if you have no access to any "unapproved" channels of communication, how do you know that there's any other information available?

To me, arguments like this are for those too lazy to actually LISTEN to the world around them. It's easier just to shrug and say "the mysterians are in charge, what's the use?"

FWIW, as a political conservative I KNOW that the mainstream media are controlled by the left-leaning in this country. Big deal, let 'em have it. There are other sources of information, and life goes on.

Meanwhile, the black helicopters are probably hovering over your house! Better duck inside, and close yourself in! It's safer that way...

Thats why i said YOU! not me... BTW i could care less of your sarcasm im not a conspiracy looney... im just confident that most of the actual crap is still untold...

Alex Jones is a kook. We can agree there.

Don't group everyone together. It makes no sense.

What I am telling you is that all
three of our governments ARE heading towards a EU style system. I mean some of ours (politicians) actually admit it. This is not a conspiracy. It's not difficult to get info on the meetings taking place here.

Yes, exactly. It's "fun" to be on the inside, to be the "cool guy" who really knows the score!

Most of these types are "political" only insofar as they can decry the "system," but they actually have nothing alternative to offer. If by some quirk of fate they actually ended up in power, they wouldn't no what the **** to do.

They're good for bumper-sticker slogans, and not much else.

Thats why i said YOU! not me... BTW i could care less of your sarcasm im not a conspiracy looney... im just confident that most of the actual crap is still untold...

Most of EVERYTHING is "still untold."

But little of it has to do with public policy. It's a maxim of "intelligence," that the chance of "leakage" goes up exponentially as a function of how many people know about it.

The chances of "secrets" being held by 10 people are virtually nil, and if you think an entire government agency's going to be able to operate in the dark....fuggedabaddit.

I will take the time sometime to watch the movie as it seems very interesting, but I find it funny that people put others down for failing to realize "the truth." The thing with most conspiracy theories is that so many of them, even if they are true, don't even personally affect any of us. All it ends up doing is just inciting undue paranoia. Many prefer to live in ignorance, and they live happy, long lives in it.

I don't mean that as an offense. The term "ignorance" has somehow become an insult in this day and age, when I don't mean it as such.

NAU
1) NAFTA
2) Bring dollar values close to the same amount
3) TransAmerican Highway
4) Profit

Speaking of kooky conspiracies, have you guys watched PBS's new Frontline special: Bush's War. From what I've seen so far it does a good job detailing the events that lead us into attacking Iraq. It is ok to say that we attacked Iraq still isn't it? Thats not really a conspiracy. (I really do have friends that insist were not at war).

You mean that left wing liberal media?;)
That was a pretty good special but still glossed over alot of stuff. It was nice to see two hours of straight doc with no commercials.

From someone that uses "Liberal" alongside their avatar essentially as an epithet?

No, not an epithet. I'm serious as a heart attack about recovering from liberalism. Please notice that I have not made any personal attacks in this thread. Whereas your posts have been rife with them.

Pot, meet kettle... kettle, pot.

Your fangs are clearly showing, and it's rather unbecoming.

More delicious irony.

Stop with the childish "us vs. them" crap. This stupid Liberal/Conservative, Republican/Democrat $#!+. Can't you see how much damage that crap's done already?

Yes, we would surely all be better off as clones of each other without differing opinions. You're just upset because I'm not drinking your particular flavor of Kool Aide.

Grow the hell up...you're not helping ANYTHING with that kind of attitude. Don't talk about anyone "bashing" anything until you decide to stop the bludgeoning first, or else your words are rather hollow.

By "bashing" I assume you mean posts like this:

Basshole said:
How can you believe ANYTHING she says???...I can't even buy that she's female...

it's pretty obvious to me that you're a Christian who's unwilling to open your eyes.

I posted one sentence to which you responded with paragraphs of vitriol, anger and ire. And you have the nerve to tell me to grow up? I suggest you hold that mirror "progressives" seem to be so fond of pointing at conservatives and turn it to face yourself. It might do you some good.

BTW, in case you forgot, this thread was about A MOVIE.

No, I didn't forget, but it's clear that you have. :D

I want to get in on this one before it gets closed..... which should be any time now ; )

9/11 was NOT a conspiracy. Search google. Popular mechanics did a great article on the web going over it in detail.

I think the movie, Zeitgeist, has alot of interesting things happening... many which are true. However, its important to use your critical thinking skills when watching it... just like everything else. Most people are too lazy and would rather watch a re-run of Family Guy. That's our society's biggest problem. Most people simply dont care to give a crap about anything except their immediate circumstances.

The problems of the world can be summed up in one word:

Greed.
