Zon Hyperbass

Fantastic execution! I had a Hyperbass at one time, many moons ago. Too much bass for me! LOL!

Dude, I think you need to try harder. Maybe try to bust out some Kiss or Def Leppard, ya' know? That unlined fretless, harmonic, multiple turnings within a song that shows off your obvious knowledge of theory and technique is only gonna get you so far..............................................:D

I try to listen to Manring do "Enormous Room" about once a month. I sit there in awe, with my mouth hanging open, then, when he's done, I shake my head to get my brain restarted, wipe away the tear that's in the corner of my eye, and then I go listen to some Ugly Kid Joe or Queensryche and my world is right again...

Seriously, that was awesome! Well played, sir:thumbsup:! I gotta go find "I Hate Everything About You" now...

That's pretty damn cool! Manring is a beast. I use a lot of natural and false harmonics and would love to have a bass (short scale preferably, but I'd settle) with 4 d-tuners on it. Also, if it could be made like a travel bass with the tuners near the right hand, so that the d-tuner levers were poking up through the body, then I could be happy. That's not too much to ask for is it?

Can someone explain what's going on at the bridge? I mean I get that it's a detuner, but that's not something I've seen on the hyperbass before.

Michael's original had this but I understand not as many of the other ones produced do. As I understand it, the lever on the bass side raises and lowers the 2 lower strings and the lever on the treble side raises and lowers the two higher strings. Offers additional tuning capabilities besides the 4 tuning keys.

Don't sell yourself short Mark, I bet you sounded amazing on that bass...........
LOL! Thanks! The bass sounded incredible (even with ME playing it!), but with all the possible tuning options, I knew I would never utilize it to its full potential. Thought it would be better to let it go to someone who could (like Mr. Hagan, above). Plus it spared me the ignominy of showing up somewhere with it and people expecting me to be better than I am! ;)

That's right! The levers are attached to cams that engage set screws. You can adjust the set screws quite a bit. Right now I have them set up just like you explained, but you could set each lever to engage any or all of the strings. There's a lot of possibilities! I believe there are only 25 hyperbass' with this bridge, Michaels being the first!
