Zon...please advise

Even and the boys at BassNW are very Zon friendly and have a few used pieces that would be worth a look IMO. If you ever
get the chance going to Bass NW is AMAZING. They have it all of course and the great thing is they are all really helpfull guys. Again no shamless plug intended. BTW I have heard that EBS heads are the bees knees for making a ZON sing...check out if possible.

those gusy at bass NW really know whats up in the customer service depot. i jsut got a cab from them man. super helpfu and always kept me informed.

that said, zons through ashdowns (or really any amp for that matter) have THE TONE. zons are just great great basses. im actually saving up right now to order direct for a custom 4 string. im really excited should have it by january.

Sethlow, I sent a pm ;)

Recently I played a zon sonus studio V and I was shocked by its tone. Such a beautifull deep TONEFULL sound. (yes, in capitals... excuse me) Perfectly balanced... unbelievable, but I should pay € 2500,-....yet still a bargain, but in fact beyond my finance-range. :D

Every pickup can be personalized by bass/treble/ mid...mid/high boost or flat (last three with a toggle switch) settings and it is really unbelievable and fantastic. A Zon impressed me... :help:

First, I still can't believe Seth has his Zon, but I'm sure someone will discover and snatch it up soon. I've heard from multiple sources that those stock Sonus fivers with the ZP2D preamp like his are awesome... just that they don't get as much notice 'cause they don't have fancy tops and upgraded mids... however, maybe they don't NEED them. :)

Second, not to be the devil's advocate, but I have done business with Bass Central before, and it went fine.

Also, shout out to Steve at SuperBass. Great guy, with cool stuff.

My fave remains AccessBass, however. Adrian's really been very helpful in getting me into the basses that work best for me.

Also, hey zongeek, make sure you play a straight up Sonus 5, too. I know the Studios are the high-zoot models, but the standard Sonus models are definitely worth an A/B test. :)

Finally, re: "any amp"... got that right. I have a full Eden rig (Time Traveler and a pair of 210XLT's), but when I want more juice for bigger gigs (usually outdoors) I use a GK 1001RB-II head, and through either, the Zons rock my world completely, and I LOVE the fact that I can go from a cool A/C club to a hot humid July/August summerfest and not have to touch the action.

acutally i have played a sonus 5/2 and im sitll impressed. but the store it was at the guys mustve have thought it was a studio or soemthing they wanted 3700 USD for it. i laughed and walked out.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOD, no way!

Anyway, actually, I was referring to the "Sonus 5", which is very different than the 5/2.. diff pickups, scale, body wood (ash instead of alder), number of frets (24 vs 22), etc.. and I'm sure has a very different tone. The straightup "Sonus 5" is what I call the "standard" (best known) Sonus 5. One like sethlow3's. :)
