Nicely done on the patches, limabass. this is exactly what I expected when I started this thread. everyone to share patch ideas. requests are fine, but I would like patch ideas being shared. theindiekid started a greatest hits thread of the best zoom b3 patch ideas. makes it easy to fine some of the best patch ideas posted on this thread.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. inspired by a youtube clip, this patch has a beefy distorted bass sound with powerful lows.

Thunder chunk 2

Section 1: d comp: sense: 3, tone: 7, level: 100, attack: slow

Section 2: overdrive: gain: 45, tone: 50, level: 110, balance: 18

Section 3: svt: bass: 3, mid: 4, treble: 2, midfq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 40, ultra: low, cab: pt1x15, mix: 50

Here's the clip that inspired me to make this patch.

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates the enhanced distorted bass sounds of the darkglass vintage deluxe.

Vintage grind deluxe

Section 1: squeak: gain: 30, tone: 45, level: 100, balance: 25

Section 2: splitter: hi: 30, lo: 40, freq: 250hz, level: 80

Section 3: bass driver: bass: 3, treble: -2, presence: 0, gain: 50, blend: 75, level 100, mid: 7

Slightly off-topic: I sold my B3 and I'm getting anxious to buy it again (due in no small part to this thread), but I'm considering the MS-60B. The MS-60B has the same emulations, right? Should I be able to dial the same patches?

Yes, I'm aware I'm getting a lot less (no DI, looper or USB interface for starters), but I'm mainly interested in using it with other analog pedals.

Yes on all accounts. Using the MS-60b with my other pedals actually prompted me to get a B3 and replacing my pedals all together.

Guys, i am looking for some kind of atmospheric patch similar to the shimmer algorithm on the eventide h9.
I found the shimmer algorithm worked really well specifically for the keys part at the start of wanted dead or alive but i don't take my large board to cover band gigs (too much $ for beer to be dumped on it)
Anyone have any ideas on how to create something atmospheric like that on the b3?

hey guys, trying to work out a new patch with no luck. Looking for a good vintage sounding overdrive that's not too boomy, just a bit of dirt when I dig in. I've played around with no luck. I had a berhinger overdrive pedal that I was able to get just what I wanted, but no such luck with the b3. Oh gods of the b3 patch ideas, please show me what you got.

I have a question that has probably been discussed at some point during the thread, but just 'cos I'm lazy ;)

I am currently working on a project where I mainly play a 5 string active bass, however, there are some things I prefer to play on a 4, all my 4's being passive.

I really don't want to bend down and flick the active/passive switch when changing basses and also start having to worry about changing levels. I was thinking of placing an independent pre on the board just for when using a passive, but I would rather save the space (and money :) ). So I am thinking of just using the first effect in line of the B3 to equal the gains between the basses.

I know I will have to play around with levels before I find the perfect setting, but I am wondering what effect you would pick for this task?


(in case it makes any difference, my signal chain would be: Bass > Tuner > Compressor > Zoom B3 > Meatbox > DI to FOH > HPF > Amp. )
