I recommend reading through the 'B3 as a Preamp' thread as well! Thanks for the work!

That's an interesting application of those "pedals". I've been checking out Broughton Audio lately myself - have you created any patches for this? The AC Bs Pre is a handy little pedal, that's for sure.

I appreciate your time in putting all these patches together. After all this time, I STILL like my B3, particularly for its amp and cabinet emulations. The B3 holds its own very well as a preamp into powered cabinets - this coming for a SVT owner for many years.

My B3 has been a regular tool of mine for many years. A very cool piece of equipment.

    Awesome job Squiddie Walsh! Thanks!

For some reason, patch groups 001 and 004 were blank.

Question for anyone on this thread: has anyone categorized all the patches in a spreadsheet (or just written them down somewhere that can be copied / posted / pm'd)

E.g. Compressor Patches, Overdrive patches, Distortion patches, etc.

    Just wondering.

Interesting idea! I know my problem w/ my B3 over the years is keeping my best patches "safe" in once place (I have about 8 that I keep on my B3, the rest are on my PC), so having a list of "types" of patches would be nice for sorting. I usually name mine for a particular song, so I can generally figure it out.

That's a good idea as well.

Yeah I've been meaning to compile types of patches...just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Here's a link to the Zoom B3 manual for those who don't have or misplaced the manual.

The Effect types and parameters start on page 33.

The brief description about each effect summarizes it's primary feature.

Still wondering if anyone has categorized patches based on what they do -- especially all the custom patches that have been posted in this thread.

Toying around with the idea of, for example, putting all the Compressor type patches I like under the Letter "C"; Distortion / Overdrive patches under the Letter "D", etc. This way I might actually have a shot at remembering where I've put all the patches on the B3.

How do I add these in for Mac? Still getting used to navigating folders in Mac Land.

    Thanks!

My take on some British fuzz:

    Position 1: (not used)

    Position 2: Great Muff
    Gain: 27
    Tone: 78
    Level: 100
    Bal: 12

    Position 3: Super B
    Gain: 60
    Bass: 0
    Mid: 0
    Mid_F: 250Hz
    Treble: 0
    Pres: 3
    Level: 21
    Cab: 8x10 AG
    Mix: 4

Great saturated old-school british fuzz. Think JPJ on "Heartbreaker" off of Led Zeppelin II or Jack Bruce on "Sunshine of Your Love" off of Cream's Disraeli Gears. This sounds awesome on my Jazz Bass using a big thick felt pick to take away from attack.

Another take, with a twist. Let's call it "70's bottom end synth", akin to "The Window" from the Steve Miller Band's Fly Like an Eagle:

    Position 1: Std Syn
    Sense: 100
    Sound: 1
    Tone: 7
    Synth: 10
    Dry: 100
    Level: 100

    Position 2: Great Muff
    Gain: 27
    Tone: 78
    Level: 100
    Bal: 12

    Position 3: Super B
    Gain: 60
    Bass: 0
    Mid: 0
    Mid_F: 250Hz
    Treble: 0
    Pres: 3
    Level: 21
    Cab: 8x10 AG
    Mix: 4

    Hello There !

I'm a new owner of a Zoom B3, and to be honest, i'm litterally lost on it ...
I have a Classic Rock / Pop Rock 80's Cover Duo Band (Acoustic Guitar, Electric bass), and I would like to know if you have some Patch to advice me :). I play on a Genz Benz Streamliner 600 and a Fender PB, and I search to complete my sound. If you have some tips to approach a sound like Nik Kershawn in "Would'nt it be good", that's gonna be nice :D (even if I know that's only have Synth on this track xD).

Thank you very much, and my apologize if I made grammatical mistakes, I'm french :D

Hello, and welcome to the B3 owners club. First thing I recommend if you don't have it yet, download the owners manual. (See post #2273).
