For all of you metal heads playing in B, here is my favorite patch:
Para EQ:

Here is a sample in a quick mix with fingers,Rotosound flatwounds, Yamaha BB3000 PJ configuration with balance set to 50/50:

That's a pretty cool sound you got there. Real punchy and heavy.

Can someone PLEASE track down that sound with the B3:

Sounds to me like a set of stainless steel strings, low action, a good balance between lows and highs, and it sounds like there's a hint of distortion. give the proco rat model and a preamp model(maybe the sansamp bass driver model) a try and see how it works out for you.

For those who use flats, here is the clean hifi flatwound patch I use.

Grahpic EQ:

800Hz: +2 4.5kHz: -12 10kHz: -12

Freq1: 250Hz Q1: 0.5 Gain 1: 5

Bass: 0 Mid: 0 Trebl: 0 Mid_F: 200Hz Tube: 100 Level: 100 Comp: 6 CAB: H3500 Mix: 0 (This is to taste). I'm using a Squier Jazz with chromes and the sound is punchy, percussive, and growly, with a bright glassy chimey sound to the higher notes that really sings. Lots of definition and clarity.

Slapback- which delay model and setting? Googled, experimented, stink at implementation.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. This patch has a bit-crusher effect with some tube-emulated distortion.

Section 1: Bitcrush: Bit:14, sample:40, balance:50, tone:7, level:90

Section 2:stereocho: Depth:70, rate:25, mix:50, locut:180hz, level:90

Section 3: Bassdrive: Bass:3, treble:-2, presence:0, gain:50, blend:75, level:100, mid:4

I've got some that are close but just exploring what others might have.

If you're looking for that smooth warm bass sound that has a mid-range presence, try using the acoustic amp model or the monotone amp model and see if it works out for you.

Like RedsFan 75, I too would love to see more posts on less dirty, cleaner patches. I play in a cover band that plays some of the disco/funk/R&B classics, and I'd love to hear from others what they're using for songs in this category.

BTW, some of the patches that have been posted I truly love. Great stuff. However, some of the ones I liked have a hiss associated with them: they're not quiet at all, and the hiss is a deal killer. Anyone know why some patches herein are so "hissy" and have any thoughts on how to keep the tone but lessen the noise?

This is not the expression pedal,is the footswitch pedal.The picture is wrong,but the price is right for the footswitch.Expect the price for the expression about 35-40$.

Here's a new patch I came up with. this patch is a lightly distorted fender bassman sound with tight compression.

Metal bassman 2

Section 1: m comp: thresh: 20, ratio: 5, level: 100, attack: 7

Section 2: metalwrld: gain: 10, tone: 50, level: 100, balance: 18

Section 3: b-man: bass: 4, mid: 3, treble: -2, midfq: 350hz, gain: 40, level: 50, deep: on. cab: ag8x10, mix: 50

Try with a bass with humbuckers and use only the bridge one.Very low action and nickel strings.Pick up the AcBsPre preamp and give a lot treble and high mids for the harmonics.And finally use very little of chorus.IMO ofc
