This queen song has the stingray sound I'm looking for
Any idea how to get this sound without a stingray
I think the same... maybe with a little (very little) overdrive? If you own a bass with 2 pick-ups, try using the bridge pick-up.
Hi guys....a bit of a noob, so I begin with an "I'm sorry if I overlooked something that has already been posted!!"
Also....thank you to everybody (especially Crystalman and OzzyGreg) 79 previous pages on this thread.....I got my B3 a few weeks ago and have been using several of your tones with my band.
I'll get to the point: I'm in a band with 2 loud guitar players, and a decently loud drummer. I play a Fender Jazz and Ibanez active 5 string through the B3 run into the effects return of my Ashdown EVO II 2x10 combo.
It's got like 500 watts or whatever, so the headroom is there to keep up, but I want to CUT!! We play in Bb and C tunings. Lowwww heavy rock. I love a whole bunch of famous bassist's tones, but I've heard two recently that if I could get them dialed in.....I think I could call it good for forever.
Trujillo's tone at the beginning of this video
And this dude's tone (starting at 30 seconds)
Thanks!
