Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Hi everybody !
first post for me but a lot of reading inside !!

thank you for all those patch ideas for the zoom b3.

I try to find my answer into the post, but, it was a fail.
I'm looking for a patch idea to approache the muse bass sound on dead inside (seems some octaver, phaser and drive)
someone have any ideas ?

as for the patch, it sounds like a synthy fuzz.

Hi guys and to crystalman85,

Have a problem duplicating P-nut's tone of 311. Need lots of help here T_T. We are going to cover the following songs, viz:

1.) Come Original (esp. the slapping part, I cant seem to figure how to make the percussive sounds cut in the mix)
2.) Down
3.) Beautiful Disaster
4.) Amber
5.) All Mixed Up

So guys, if you have any patch ideas, feel free to suggest them. Thanks so much in advance.

PS, I almost exclusively use crystalman85's patches, and his previous suggestions on Novoselic and C. Greenwoods tone, as well as Greg's OD, which I use by default. ;)

Sounds to me like a basic slap bass sound. a gk or swr amp model with a hartke cab model should do the trick. try one of these amp models and see which one suits the sound your looking for.

1. GK: bass: 3, mid: 5, treble: 1, midfq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 80, color: off, cab: ha4x10, mix: 50

2. SWR: bass: 3, mid: 5, treble: 2, midfq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 80, enhc: 2, cab: ha4x10, mix: 50

For beautiful disaster and amber, sounds like a warm tube bass sound. perhaps an swr amp model with a sansamp model might do the trick.

Sansamp: bass: 3, treble:-2, presence: 0, gain: 40, blend: 70, level: 90, mid: 7

SWR: bass: 3, mid: 5, treble: 2, midfq: 300hz, gain: 45, level: 80, ence: 2, cab: swr4x10, mix: 50

I haven't ever really played with the Splitter effect, but I think what you're asking is not possible on its face because it would require 4 effects slots. It *might* be possible to go Bass --> Splitter --> Low EQ / High Fuzz and then put the output from the B3 into an external EQ pedal.

This song is played with a P-Bass so you have one that will help also

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips for creating a Chris Wolstenholme-esquire patch for my Zoom B3? I have a MXR Bass Overdrive running into the multi effects, so the drive section is sort of taken care of. I'm thinking along the lines of Plug In Baby or Hysteria. Any tips?

Here's one that @Crystalman85 came up with ages ago for Starlight. It can probably work as a starting point for a Hysteria.

Found this interesting - on the cool chorus, you and I were just a few ticks off from one another settings. I have the GK 800RB that I love to use and the settings that you listed are part of my normal rig :)

HI all,
I'm new'ish to the Zoom B3 - really been digging the presets i've seen here and have made some modifications, however I noticed the Edit & Share v 5.0.x only allows for a .b3a format... and the core of everything I've seen, including in that Google doc file is .b3p - and I tried the whole open it in notepad and convert it, etc... didn't work for me. Is there a repository of *.b3a items out there? I really could use some help. I play a prototype Warmoth 6-String frettless I built around 1989 - trust me she's a one of a kind frettless, E A D G C F tuning (low to high)... just looking for some interesting patches to try out and tweak. Appreciate the help :)

That's cool. glad you like the patches. cool chorus is my personal chorus patch. I like the gk800rb model for one of my distortion patches. it's scooped beefy sounds adds more to the distortion effect I use on that patch. and it also sounds cool with only a chorus effect. I also like the hartke amp model for it's clear punchy sounds(which is what I currently use on my clean chorus patch). still, I dig the gk amp model.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. inspired by the joyo orange juice, this patch has a killer grinding bass sound with a bright punch and tight lows.

Orange bass grind

Section 1: dualcomp: hi: 25, lo: 23, freq: 1.5k, level: 100, tone: 7

Section 2: d.i plus: bass: 4, mid: 3, treble: 0, gain: 10, blend: 35, level: 100, color: on, chan: dist.

Section 3: b-man: bass: 3, mid: 2, treble: 0, freq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 100, deep: off, cab: gk4x10, mix: 50

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch has a light distortion sound with crunch and punch.

Mega bass crunch

Section 1: dualcomp: hi: 25, lo: 23, freq: 1.5k, level: 100, tone: 7

Section 2: squeak: gain: 10, tone: 75, level: 100, balance: 45

Section 3: b-man: bass: 4, mid: 3, treble: 0, freq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 100, deep: off, cab: al4x10, mix: 50

Hi!

I think somebody has mencioned this but it would be a great ideia to store this patches in a "library" to dowload. I believe there is one (don´t know who create it but the person have my gratitude) but it´s not update in very long time.

So...a database with all this patches would be great! Anybody has an ideia how to do it?

I also show my gratitude to Crystalman85. nice patches shared and always available to help other members get their tone out of the zoom b3.
