Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Thanks.

A small OFF TOPIC note: I was checking out the new Alpha/Omega from Darkglass. Are Darkglass getting to be the Apple Company of effects? Their stuff looks great, sounds good - and cast a fortune.
I'd like some of their products, but I really don't want to fork out all the money

In some ways, it can be. and true they do cost a fortune, but they are worth every dollar. if you don't want to fork over a lot of cash for a darkglass pedal, you can always get the zoom b3n since it contains a darkglass b7k model.

Looking forward to getting the B3n. Just for the Darkglass emulator. Will IT get a close copy of the Vintage Microtubes?

Tried your B3 patch of your Vintage Microtubes with the band yesterday. Sounds great at home, but not just perfect for me with the band. I actually settled for the build in drive function in my EBS Classic 500 amp

Considering that the zoom b3n has darkglass models, I'm pretty sure you can get a much closer sound to the vmt. plus I've done all I can to closely duplicate the darkglass pedal sounds on the zoom b3 and I've been given praises for it. and now that zoom is releasing the zoom b3n and it contains the darkglass model, getting a vmt sound should be a snap.

Hi
I don't hope you felt I didn't think you were doing a fantastic job? I do think you really are keeping this thread alive and moving forwards. You do and extraordinary job. It's just me - Im a hopeless fanatic with my bass tone. Spend way to much time dialing in my preferred always-on drive Sound..

Well you did sound like you were tough to please at first, but I do see that you were trying to find the right sounds. and I'm glad to know that you think I did extraordinary work on these patches. as mentioned before, I did all I can to create such nifty patches and I have been given praises for it. usually the only times I ever did keep this going is if I come up with new patch ideas. overdrive and distortion patches are usually my specialty, but I've also come up with clean bass patches as well as modulated patches. and once you get the zoom b3n, you might be able to get the vmt sound that you've been looking for. and it should be a snap considering that the zoom b3n contains darkglass models. that's one reason why I would like to get one. I would like to see the zoom b3n's take on of the darkglass b3k and b7k.

SHOUT OUT TO Crystalman! I love the darkglass vintage micro tube setting you did! Not all your stuff fits for me as I am in a jazz trio, but we do some fusion stuff, so I'm hoping to break it out at tomorrows practice. Namaste.

I play metal and many of my patches are normally for rock and metal music. especially since overdrives and distortion patches are my specialties. glad you dig the vintage grind patch. but some of the clean patches should work for jazz and fusion genres. the monotone amp model is usually popular for those genres.

I tried out the vintage micro tubes at practice last night and it cut through and growled deep like a barrel chested bear. I was extremely happy with the sound and the other band members were pretty jealous. I play a fretless with flatwounds through a Hartke A100, so having something that cuts through especially on the low end is awesome...Thjanks again Crystalman!!!

Glad it worked out for you. the vintage grind patch is one of the most popular patches on this thread.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates the edgy growling distortion sounds of the omega side of the darkglass alpha omega bass distortion pedal.

Omega bass drive

Section 1: dualcomp: hi: 30, lo: 25, freq: 900hz, level: 100, tone: 4

Section 2: d.i plus: bass: 4, mid: 3, treble: 2, gain: 70, blend: 15, color: off, chan: dist.

Section 3: super b: bass: 4, mid: 4, treble: 5, midfq: 250hz, gain: 25, level: 90, presence: 8, cab: ag1x15, mix: 50

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates the punchy overdriven sounds from the alpha side of the darkglass alpha omega bass distortion pedal.

Alpha bass drive

Section 1: m comp: thresh: 17, ratio: 4, level: 100, attack: 8

Section 2: squeak: gain: 25, tone: 50, level: 100, balance: 15

Section 3: svt: bass: 4, mid: 4, treble: 3, midfq: 350hz, gain: 40, level: 40, ultra: both, cab: swr4x10, mix: 50
