Zoom MS-60B at $69(new) by Samash

WARNING: Be careful of the levels. When you first try an effect, set your amp to a very low volume. Some of the effects are quite hot. Fortunately, all (or many) have level controls.

I received one today. Seems quite promising, but I had a few nasty surprises with the volume when I stepped through the effects.

Thanks IZUnyang, for telling us about this deal.

Got mine today, I have a problem. Connected in line with my tuner it acts funny.
My chain is: bass-tuner-zoom-sansamp. When I engage the tuner the zoom will flicker on/off/on/off, etc until I turn the tuner off.
Update: it was my tuner malfunctioning, the Zoom is fine.

Are you by any chance using a TRS cable between the tuner and the MS-60B? The unit is powered on when a TS cable shorts the sleeve and ring of the input connector. If you used a TRS cable, it would be possible that the tuner was doing something funky to the ring when engaged.

Talked to one of the main guys in the guitar department. Turns out the reason for the major sale is that Zoom decided to drop their deal with Sam Ash as a carrier. So they're just getting rid of their Zoom inventory practically at cost. I did what was suggested, registered with Sam Ash online, received my $10 off first online purchase email, bought the MS60b. He said within the last month they've sold a lot and have only a few left. Anyone thinking about purchasing one might want to jump on it ASAP

Trying to decide if I want one of these yet.
Yeah, after the -$10 coupon and the hateful +CA sales tax it's about $65 for me, plus whatever wait for backorder. I've bought stupider things for $65, but my universally *terrible* experience with defective DMFX and modeling units (every one I've ever used, without exception, had circuit or firmware trouble) makes me feel iffy on this. I would use it for a line-input frontend on a DP-008EX I'm using for scratch recording while I do some upgrades in my real dedicated studio & system, and the one thing I see in this unit's favor is that it's small. The noise problem with this thing (and it does have one) seems, as usual with DMFX units, seems to be mysteriously connected with power. I'm unclear on whether it's been worked out or not. There's a very, very long and almost entirely content-free thread on this thing in Effects. The only thing I can make out for sure is that there are numerous sources for numerous noises. Given what I intend for this device I can't handle noise problems, which would relegate it to doorstop status.

Anyone who's gotten one yet have any thoughts on this yet?

It's out of stock right now, but you can still order one for $69.77, and when they restock they'll ship it to you.
if they're getting rid of their inventory i wonder if they will restock. i have an order in so i will find out, i reckon.

Yeah from my conversation with the guy it seemed they're contract as a zoom carrier was done. Not sure if they'll restock but worse that can happen is u get ur money back so worth a shot I guess. On a side note, keep ur eye out on all zoom products as they're sure to be discounted. The ms 50g for guitar wasn't on sale yet at the time of the OP but is now. Just a heads up ;)
