Yeah, when I was first looking for a good standalone compressor pedal a while back, I read that several boutique models are based on the old Rosses. They're well thought of. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If they made it into a Zoom simulation, they must be doing something right.

Sort of off topic:

Is anyone here successfully using a midi pedal solution for patch changes? I'm looking at the Damage Control unit, for example. I would love the ability to scroll backwards and forwards through my patches. (I know I can set up ABC.... patch changing natively, but that's not perfect for me.)

It is not a midi control but Lizard Breath Pedals offers a mail in mod that looks interesting for state performance. I do wonder if @Tonelib could whip something up?

I've been looking at the same thing - ideally to connect to a Boss ES-5 so that I can switch different loops simultaneously with switching patches in the MS-60b

I can do that for you. So you're looking to have just the Left, Right and Preset/Back buttons in a smaller enclosure and no tap function. Price would stay the same still for the mail-in mod though if that works for you since it's a custom build.

Just found out this firmware update was available. Unfortunately I cannot get it.

I cannot get the ms60 into update mode. I've pushed the two buttons while plugging in the usb til I'm blue in the face. I really don't get why a there can't be something that you can scroll to in settings to just connect.

I don't think I missed any steps. unless there's something I'm unaware of.

Like you, I only use about three patches, so this isn't necessary for me. An easier way around that whole mess is just to buy a Disaster Area Dmc.micro, which can move through presets in any order and access the tuner leaving you tap-tempo for long presses on the Zoom (not bad for $99 extra). I happen to have a 70CDR relegated to modulation and reverb at the end of my chain, and a 60b that I use from compression and dirt (overdrive and fuzz). I LOVE them! I'm constantly GASing over other pedals, but when I just mess around with them to get what I want and play live, I'm always happy with the sounds I get to the point that I realize I honestly don't need any "upgrades." I also own a DMC.micro, but never need it since I use less than a handful of presets. I'm still keeping it in case one day I want to try out an HX stomp; then I can control a Zoom MS and the HXS together...but that's overkill for my needs right now.


If you have any presets you'd like to share, please DO! I can post the ones I use, as well.

It’s likely you only have the USB basic cable that provides power and little else you need one that also has data connections within the cable to the plugs

How do I save a patch on another location?

I’ve had the MS 100 BT for about two years and have been relying on my iPhone to interface with it

But I managed to score a MS 60 last night on eBay but I thought it would have exactly the same operating system/interface as the MS 100 I’m used to… Does it?

I believe there is some kind of patch editor you can put on an iphone (?) Or a computer (!) Instead of using the StompShare app that I use with my MS 100
Would this be how a patch can be cut and pasted?

I got the pedal
I read and re read three times the manual but just like my MS 100 there is no article regarding this “cut and paste” technique advocated here

IS there REALLY a way to do this?

The only flaw, for want of a better word, in these units is the fact that there isn’t (and could never be; due to their convenient size) dedicated knobs, buttons & controls for single parameters and therefore it’s really important, as I see it, to utilise the A, B, C function to scroll through extremely similar patches -with slight changes- to each via the foot switch

If the ‘cut-and-paste’ concept were available this would be a relatively easy procedure but, as far as I know & despite what’s been said here, I have yet to discover a way to design a patch and then reproduce it again and again in subsequent memory slots ready to be ‘tweaked’

If anyone has ANY ideas on how to do this I’d love to know..! :hyper:

Page 10, and onwards, explains how to save a patch memory and how to rename a patch and also where to save a patch but no mention of this duplicating a patch multiple times or cutting pasting a patch:bookworm:

Can you describe how you have done it, please?
