I'm finding the tube screamer model does this quite nicely, if you dial in healthy amount of clean signal. The lack of low gain drive was something I always felt was missing and trying to dial it in from other drives sounded artificial.

Zoom MS-60B Firmware Update 2.0 (June 2017)

I'm finding the tube screamer model does this quite nicely, if you dial in healthy amount of clean signal. The lack of low gain drive was something I always felt was missing and trying to dial it in from other drives sounded artificial.
I'll bring mine home tomorrow after band rehearsal and update it right then. The TS comment got me curious, so I'll look into dat. Any word on the new choruses ?
I changed it up a little bit and am now only using the orange limiter for compression, and it sounds good! The SVT was a little thick, so I switched to the fliptop, but the fliptop's gain doesn't add any hair. I'll try the TS as mentioned above.
I like only a little hair, and use my ampeg scr-di scrambler circuit for that. It's not the best execution of a dirt Chanel, but it's blend-able, and works ok.
I was very disappointed in the B15 model when I first got my B1on - what were they smoking the day they wrote that code

Though I've had the 70CDR on my Nano board for a while, I hardly used it live and only for occasionally using chorus (throughout the Plex loop along with the Ditto). After this update though, I've moved it to the front of my chain and it's replaced my MXR BOD allowing me to add another dirt pedal 
(Zoom "octave" is not as thick and deep as the MXR, but it has a nice tone and tracks well, for me). I'm using it for octave, chorus, and soon as a compressor since the Plex's comp needs a bit more flexibility to be "just right." I'm really glad Zoom did this for the whole MS line.
(As a side note, I updated my coworker's 60b and tried out the new amp sims.... I'm very impressed! The GK sim sounds pretty good, and the flip-top has a really sweet tone and thump to it. I might have to get one

)Oh man, I was playing around with the MS as well as the old DOD Thrash Master fuzz I just picked up, and the MS just wasn't playing well with all the other pedals for some reason. My octave pedal was warbling all over the place even though the MS was feeding it a compressed/limited signal, and a couple other things didn't quite sound right....
SOOOOOO, long story short, after playing around with the placement, I moved the MS to the END of the chain, where the main patch is now ZNR > OrangeLim > TS+Dry (with the Gain and Tone at 0 and the balance at 35, just enough edge on the signal for my needs - thanks @ga_edwards!) > A slot for footswitchable modulation, currently playing with the Clone Chorus.
The MS tames all the spikes and fattens and boosts the signal into the amp, plus I can add some swirl to the whole thing. Sounds awesome. I'd always used it first before because of the compressor, but with these specific pedals, last is the way to go!

Since the TC Corona was added to the 50G i now use mine (actually my sons) as my chorus pedal. I dont use my 60B live though, but i like what Zoom have added to it. I was tempted to use the small Cone instead of the TC chorus but i prefer the TC tone.
I don't get an error on my MS 50-G but there are a lot of effects missing from the list that should be there
It added a few, but I don't see any additional drive or amp models for sure. I still haven't reviewed modulation, etc
Did you add the effects from the computer program? It's a separate thing from just doing the update
No, I figured that out after doing some reading. It will be a couple of days before I can get to that though.
I didn't have to do that with the MS-60B's I have ... so I didn't realize the MS-50G had another app to manage that

I was looking for a Duff McKagan-type chorus sound and after trying all of them, I replaced my existing patch with the Corona chorus. I really loved the Clone, Tri-Chorus and most of the other additions, but the Chorus nailed it, at least to my ears.
I also had a mod delay patch (Pink Floyd's Young Lust) and replaced it with the Echo Tape. Sounds darker and much closer to wot I hear in the original recording.
I've owned 60Bs almost since the moment they came out (this is my 3rd unit) and this multistomp concept Zoom has... quite the thing !

Corona: speed, depth and tone 50, Fxlevel 100, dry on
BaGEQ: 2, -3, -5, -5, -3, 4, 110
ZNR: 13, EFxIn, 100
Of course, accounting for current board, gear and chain.
Trying to run the updater but it it wont recognize my Zoom on the midi in/midi out. I pull down the field and it's just blank. not sure where the glitch is. Frustrating.
Edit: I had to open the updater without having the Zoom in firmware mode for my computer to see it. I left the updater open and replugged it in this time in firmware mode and everything worked fine.

I wonder if this big update to all Zoom's (presumably) TMS320-based DSP multistomp products means they're starting on their next generation using a different processor. Did I also hear the MS-100 effects are free now?
