The polarity's no issue, but I'm scared of underpowering my B1X by sending in lesser current than necessary.

You cannot harm it with too little power it will work or not. There is a danger in overpowering some older pedals.

That does make sense (especially after I read an explanation elsewhere) but, again I remember reading somewhere that providing too little current can actually harm the power supply, which can heat up and die

Just wish I could get that Powerall to work

I hope anyone can help me.
I own a Zoom 607 Bass pedal and the "store" button is not working anymore. I opened it and found nothing wrong with the circutry. Solderings are fine, the button is not loose... I just can't figure out why it is not working. Have you experienced something like this?

I never had that problem with the old 607 until mine was retired due to the faulty in and out jacks. Been more than happy with the replacement B2.1u tho.

1st B2 is used for synth sounds and is almost full.

2nd B2 is for quickie gigs & rehearsals where I don't wanna haul the Lyt F16 with the B2.1u and practice. It's almost been as much fun getting it programmed as the old 506 i got way back when.

On a different note, just floating a theory here: does anyone else think that the Zoom units are better with passive basses than active ones? Most of the complaints I've heard regarding Zoom units on TB are from people who have the latter. Zooms seem somewhat overwhelmed by hot signals, from what I've observed people saying, though I haven't had a chance to experiment with an active bass myself.

I can't say that I'm a HUGE fan of Zoom itself but I do own two twelve year old 506's. I love these pedals. Is anyone else running two (or more) Zoom's on the same pedalboard? I know I am. There's no way I'm ever selling these. Can I have a number? Please?

There are a few people on this thread who have multiple Zoom pedals (notably bassbrad) but I don't know if they use multiple pedals together.

IMO Zooms do work better with passive basses or basses with that level of output as they can easily be over driven into some pretty harsh sounds. I also have to be careful not to overwhelm the input with a distortion or compressor before a Zoom.

I don’t find this to be the case; at all... it’s all about how you set it up...
The zoom has several gain stages on it, the cp/lim stage has one, the drive stage has another, the mix stage has another, and then there’s the overall gain at the end (the control stage).
These all need to be set appropriately to get the desired tone(s).
Besides, just because it’s an active bass doesn’t mean that it is automatically louder than a passive. Of my 4 basses, one is passive, and it’s certainly not the softest of the lot.

In addition, I’ve often put an overdrive pedal in front of the zoom (usually a Behringer TO800 or a Behringer BDI21) with excellent results.
Again, the key is in setting the gain stages appropriately.

Ok, who else has been desperate to get their hands on one of the new G3s? I'm pretty tight on funds at the moment, but I'm reallllly thinking about dropping the cash on one.

It models some stuff off the beaten path like a seek wah, bit crusher, and a ring mod (love the ring mod on my zoom rfx 1100). Am I all alone on this one?
