Dunno why not I have a G1x that has some tasty tones for bass, in some cases I prefer the amp/distortion models on the G over the B and the reverbs are lots of fun.
I have been using the G1X on my bass for almost 3months now, and I am very satisfied with it.
Well, I am still a devoted ZOOM user: I own the B2, H4n and Q3, I am putting my B9 up for sale. Here's the sale thread. Nothing wrong with it, just too many toys and I am streamlining some things.
Thanks Brad, I wanted the bank up mainly so I can go quickly from one patch to another during live play. Now that I have it on the go, I think it will do quite nicely for that. Cool that it skips through the 1 to 40s pre-sets by 10s also. To mute while switching I have other option on the head and the curcuit breaker at the end of my jack in the bass.

I've owned a 506II, bought a B1X and love it. Very easy to use,, I'm thinking of moving on up to a B2.

Not really. The B2 allows you more controllable parameters for each effect, but there aren't any additional effects. I have a B1x and was recently thinking about getting a B2.1u because I needed an interface and thought that an upgrade to my effects wouldn't do any harm. I dropped the idea after seeing that the effects on the B1x and the B2/B2.1u are identical, except for the aforementioned additional controllable parameters.

If you can afford a B2.1u, you might be much better off waiting for Invalid Link Removed to hit the stores instead. I don't have any experience with it (waiting for reviews myself), but it looks a completely different animal in comparison to the multifx Zoom has released thus far. It's in the vein of the Line 6 M series multis, apparently.

I use the G2.1U for distortion. Friggin love that pedal... of course it's a guitar pedal, but i've used it with my bass for years. That sucker can track all over the 6 string w no problems and harmonics and squeals just leap out with it. It's my fav.
The B2.1u has the xlr and usb outputs and the foot control.
B1x only has the combo output
The effects are essentially the same but the additional control parameters make the difference in cost worth it to go B2 over a B1x.
The differences between the B1 offers 1 control parameter and B2 series are 3 parameter controls for each effect type including tone, rate and mix
B1 has a 3 band EQ where the B2 has a 6 band
No I want more than 3 efx at a time*, but the new efx and added control is tempting but for now I stand pat and see what Zoom does next.
*My basic "Bassman/Submarine in a room" setting uses 5 of the modules (comp-drive-mix-eq-reverb).

How do you guys balance the gain stages in all of your effects? My amp has pre and master,, the Zoom has patch level, gain and overall volume,, and I'd like to toss my Para-driver in there, but dont have a clue as to where to put it, and how to set my gain to compliment each stage.
I've played for years just bass>amp. I like the effects of the Zoom, but would like to take advantage of the XLR on my Para-driver.
Is there a thread here that can tutor me in the proper way to set all of the gain levels to compliment my tone instead of overpowering my signal somewhere?

Getting all the gain stages to work together is always a bit of a trick, the Zooms do not like too much input.
You might be best off putting the Para Driver after the Zoom if you really want to use that xlr. Or you could put it first but careful with the output and have a wet and dry xlr.
The xlr on the B2.1u is pretty accurate and quiet (as long as it's not put in to a mic level input, since it is a line level xlr sadly many sound peeps don't know the diff)

Just purchased a B1X with Expression Pedal. Didn't want to spend a boat load until I figure it out and I'll move up from there. Any suggestions for a newbie to the multi effects game? Using a 81 precision special (active) thru a hartke 3500 w/410 and 115 xl's. PS. I am a Zoom Club member now, right !!

If your happy with your amp sound I'd say start with a blank patch (everything off and work your way up building sounds. Start simple maybe just EQ and some modulation, then just play with all the sounds.
As you get more familiar you can be more creative.
