FWIW I had forgotten how good the Zoom B2.1u works as a USB interface. My usual suspects including a B3 and Fast track were already in use with other computers and needed to do a quick turnaround on a couple of songs today on a laptop a friend dropped by, I hate to jinx a work in progress by moving hardware [curse of being a luddite]. The B2.1u was plug and play and ran like a dream, phat juicy bass trax recorded in no time flat. And yes of course we followed proper social distancing.

i was going to try the B3 being that little bit newer and with the looper etc. but I think my first go will be the B2.1u as I am more comfortable with it.

Does it work ok with more a modern OS than the Win XP listed in the manual?
I guess I could use the rhythm track as well, or add something in audacity.

what a useful device this thing is

I received a B1 Four earlier this week. It's very cool. I love that it can be powered from a USB Powerbank. My main use is headphone practice. However, I could totally see myself gigging with it (when gigs are a thing again). I have a regular market gig where I go straight to the PA. I'll probably just take the Zoom and a powerbank. Should I use a TRS to XLR cable to the mixer?

Another cool thing is the firmware editor and zoom-zt2 on Github. I've now got guitar amps and effects loaded onto the B1 Four. So it's a headphone practice tool for guitar too.

I sold my HX Stomp earlier this year. The B1 Four is obviously a far simpler device with less features. But with guitar amps added it actually makes a nice replacement for the Stomp. I know that's a crazy thing to say. I never enjoyed the Helix workflow. Patch setting on the Zoom range is so much easier. Sound quality is probably a big difference but the Zoom sounds great to me.

I was using the B2.1u with Cakewalk running on Windows X as a USB device. It was recognized in the settings / sound.

Yes, it's a USB 2.0 - A to B as bassbrad says.

Didn't realize there was a Zoom Owner's Club on here.

Here are two that are on my board. I've used the MS60 for over 5 years and it stays on my board. I'm always finding a use for it. If I have a gig that I don't want to take my whole board, I grab this one pop in some batteries, and Im off...
Great pedal! I recommend it to everyone who are starting to experiment with pedals.
I use the A3 on my EUB.

Folks bash the Zoom synth sounds but I always found them to be very useful and responsive. From the 506, 607, B2, B3 and MS60b and the G1x always got great sounds. I do with my 506 and 607 were still functional but they both served well until they were damaged beyond repair and replaced with newer models.

If there's anyone around who's used a B3/B3n/B1 Four, could you tell me if it has the option of assigning the pedal to any parameter of any of the effects currently in use? For example, if your chain has a delay, can you assign the pedal to the delay feedback parameter?

This is something which was there in my old B1xon and seems to be unavailable in my new G3n and it's a HUGE bummer. In fact, you cannot use the pedal with any normal effect (like Particle Reverb, for example), the pedal only works with specific effect models which allow the use of a pedal. It's quite surprising that they'd remove such a basic feature. I'm almost feeling like ditching my G3n and getting a cheap B1x again and hooking it up with my external pedal :(
