Favorite roundwounds with Dimarzio Model P?

I used to be a huge Blue Steel guy. Also loved their Super Rounds…
These were my string of choice circa 1989 to around 1993 or 4. They sure sounded great but somewhere along the line I realized I just preferred playing nickel and the nickel Dean Markleys would die really fast on me so I moved on.
Boomers would fit nicely.
Boomers sounded great out of the pack but they were another string that didn’t last very long for me. It was like they had no “perfectly broken in” stage; just “brand new” and “dead” with nothing in between. I haven’t used them since the mid 1980s. Other people love ‘em so it must just be me.

Where did you buy your first bass, and does that place still exist?

The Music Center, Louisville KY. Closed decades ago. The salesperson took advantage of my and my father.
In 1964 I was a beginning bassist. They sold me a new Kent bass (cherry burst with a chrome pickguard) which was fairly nice, but they also sold me a used Fender Bassman combo (4-10s) with blown speakers. It sounded fine at low volume, but distorted severely when it was turned up.

teensy 4.1 + audio shield

According to the datasheet max vpp 3.12V about 1VRMS but optimized for 1Vpp. So quite low. It will be a good challenge to make it work with the analog part
Looks like it's time to go back and look at signal pads (paying attention to input and output impedances... output as in what the ADC sees as a source impedance for noise purposes). It can be trickier than you might imagine) with limiting device of some form. This limiting and clamping is also done inside many opamps to protect the input diff pair from over-voltage damage.

ISO string recommendations for multiple basses

Congrats on your new daughter OP! :D

I have to recommend D'Addario Chromes based on what you're looking for. They're made of stainless steel, they keep their brightness for a long time, they age well, they won't kill your fingers, and...

This.

Alternatively, you might want to check out the La Bella (regular) White Nylon tapewounds.
Thanks!

I've heard of D'Addario Chromes. Might try them on the Stiletto Custom.

I've heard interesting things about tape wounds, but have never tried them. Might be good on the Ibanez.

SPECTOR® Owners Club

you know what I'm working on 60 years old the older I get the less I care how you feel or anybody else feels I grew up seeing Metallica in a bar layer in a bar Guns N' Roses in a bar poison in a bar, Alice In Chains in a bar and a hell of a lot other bands so when I represent, I represent fully not worried about your feelings so you're a passion or whatever and I don't even care what everybody else says on talk Bass either I have some of the best instruments I bought. The best instruments played them sold them made other people happy as well as myself, so I'm not worried about your little inclination about some guy with suspenders cause that sort of gives me an operation of what you might look like.
Oh yeah if you originally from the south, you’re probably just lazy fat no education or slow to be educated so stick it

Fender Dimension Bass Club

I can't remember if anyone reported this here, but the first post of this thread has a link to a 3D-printable adapter for a Dimension V pickup route. If it works, it should allow one to install certain soapbar pickups while eating up the negative space around it.

Shout out to @tekhedd for mapping it out. Hopefully, I'll be able to adapt it to a four-banger. It will do wonders for my Dimension parts-bass Projekt and it's Bartolini M3 soapbars. (Hmm…"soapbarts"? 🤔)

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

Sean's now a dad(John's grandson). The birth occurred several days ago, but just officially announced now, although apparently Julian(who is experiencing some health problems)leaked the news on social media…

Imagine finding out Lennon is your grandpa? Or worse Yoko is grandma.
