I am used to clockwise point to the neck. However, if I was starting from scratch, I would have ended up doing it Roger Sadowsky's way, because this felt backwards to me before I got used to it

As others have written, it's easy to change to suit your preference, so no big deal either way.

I have a K&M stand for my SLB-300, and the bass isn't really in the right position or height to be played comfortably when it's on the stand.

A little off-topic, but I got the idea from a post in an earlier TB thread to attach a piece of velcro (the fuzzy side) to the belly bar where it hits your body. That bit of friction really helps to keep the bass from sliding around.

This pic shows my playing position more or less, although seeing it from that perspective the bass actually looks a little high.

Annoying as heck hearing them now, and too old for them at the time, but once heard at someone's house, they live forever in some recess of your mind. But they were actually kind of funny. Irony for ten-year-olds, as with Bullwinkle. The best bit was when the crowd watching the race lamely yelled "Yay" - in unison - and then immediately dropped to silence whenever Tom Slick's name was mentioned. Spun off of George of the Jungle?

My Carvin BB-75 is backwards too clockwise favors bridge. I just thought it was an oopsie from when it was built and work around it. It seemed counter intuitive at first, but after playing it for 30 years, it just became "the way it is". My 2 other blends (Ibanez SDGR806 and Alembic Epic) are both clockwise to favor neck pickup. Fortunately, the Carvin is my main player, the others are situation-specific and don't need to change often, if ever.

The '60s, especially mid-late '60s were totally spy-centric. The soundtracks reflected what was started by the James Bond series. A late '60s fave is by The Walker Brothers. Scott was offered the James Bond song gig but passed on it - he and Dusty Springfield were king & queen in the UK then and should have each done one of the Bond themes. Dusty did "The Look of Love" which was in the original Casino Royal, the non-franchise Bond movie later re-made with Danial Craig as Bond. I totally dig it, but I'm not certain Cherie or Kirstin would be interested in singing "The Female of the Species is DeadlierThan the Male"!

@ardgedee beat me to it, but a picture is worth a thousand words. If you are right-handed this is the only correct way (IMNSHO) to set up your blend knob. I don't care whose name is on the headstock.

$2,750 for one of these is a tough pill to swallow. I have one from batch grand This is also by far (IMO) the least aesthetically pleasing design. I have one from batch 7 and I love the design and sound, but Had I paid 2,750 for it I would be left wanting.
