I feel bad for his kids. On the show I saw, he looked like a fantastic dad (who was a little nuts to be doing what he did).
Wow. I'm dismayed. This just put me in a real somber mood. RIP, Steve. You brought joy and laughter to us all in your adventures.
Wow. Must have been some stingray. I've taken a barb to the calf before, and that hurt like hell, but I couldn't imagine one any larger hitting you in the chest.
At least he went doing what he loved. We should all be as lucky as that.

Apparently his wife is somewhere in Cradle Mountain and can not be contacted, so she has no idea yet. They say the wife's always the last to know but this is just terrible.
It happened while filming a documentary so someone, somewhere out there has his death on tape. How long before some sicko emails it around the world? I for one won't watch it!

I don't watch TV but I catch some at the in-laws from time to time... usually weekend afternoons. It's always welcome when we chanced on his shows. I just saw him swapping Zoo crocs in boxes the other week /month.
Like said, I'm glad he went doing what he loved... I hope the same fate of myself.
