Why the EMG's?

There has been another Alembic up on eBay recently with Bart's installed....

The Alembic sound and Alembic lo-impedance pickups are the reason most people pay top dollar for Alembic basses. I'm curious as to why you put the EMG's in there. No disrespect, just curiousity- care to enlighten me?

I thought the same thing when I saw that one with the bartolinis.

Wish I had one to show... some day...

Hola Tom,

It's a great bass, tactile and expressive, walnut/maple/mahogany and it's the one that people look at because it's so pretty. The S1 is a bit ratty looking and the maple/PH construction is sort of plain. But I love it for that: aint no show pony.

Hi,
I did not realize that was Walnut! I thought Rosewood (most older ones are), very cool. I just recently got the SC, so Im getting used to what it can do, those controls are very sensitive a little turn goes a long way.
My Essence is just plug and play the thing sounds amazing immediately with little fuss, its still my number one but I dont know for how much longer :)
