Here is one I just got that is being refinished. Its a Custom Small body Omega Cut Series II!

Cool! I remember when that bass popped up on the 'Bay a few years ago...nice to know it finally went to a good home.

Here's mine, an '82 Series 2 with graphite neck:

Alembics I used to own......

My first was the 1983 birdseye maple Spoiler. I traded that for the 1987 Stanley Clarke Signature. Found the 1974 Series I for $475 while I was looking for short scale strings for the Stanley. I no longer have any of these basses.

I sold the Stanley after I bought this 1979 medium scale Series II.

I sold the Series II to Brian Barrett (The Low End) to fund the purchase of the two Alembics I still have,

A 1987 walnut Series I 4 string

And a 2000 Mark Signature Deluxe / Series II 5-string

Both basses arrived the same week in June 2000. The 5 string continues to be my primary instrument.

Peace,

James

Yea, man, thats been probably 7 or more years ago. I think I bought it off ebay, didn't I? I know it went to Japan.
Killer Series II!

Great basses you have had!

95 Epic, Quilted Maple on Mahogany.

It's the mirror image of mine. I recently got the AE-2 filter for Epic 5, and I love it. It replaces the bass and treble controls with a tunable treble rolloff and a Q switch that adds an 8 dB boost at the rolloff point. I really like it; it really cuts through the mix.

Here's the front and back, just out of spray.
I'll post the control layout seperately

Now.

This is just the most amazing looking Alembic I have ever seen.

Scratch that, one of the best looking basses I have ever seen! This is going to mean serious GAS pains, the body shape is so small and compact!

Wow, seems like it will not be long now ... That Cocobolo looks amazing... The circut looks like a modified Anniversay setup with Treble and bass switches as well as the Q for each PUP....

You hit the electronics right on the nose. The top is fantastic, too. The folks at Alembic and Bass Central have been great to deal with, and it's made the whole experience of getting a custom a pleasure. I can't wait to feel how it plays and hear how it sounds.
