Explain how women think

A phone conversation with one of my girlfriends has me somewhat bewildered. It went as follows:
Her: I can't see you any more.
Me: Why?
Her: I like you too much.
Me: ......and?
Her: You're great. You're a gentleman, you make me feel wonderful, and I always have a good time with you. I can't stop thinking about you.
Me: So, you can't see me any more because...?
Her: I'm not used to feeling like this. It' too good.

I'm not a kid, I'm 55 and thought I knew a few things about women, but this has blown me away. Could I get a woman's view on what the problem is?

She's lying. There's something else about you that turns her off, and she's letting you down easy by saying you're "too good for her". In the recent movie "He's Just Not That Into You" they even had a gag about that, where two women are laughingly commiserating about the bogus lines guys use when dumping women, and that was one of them.

Subtext is 'there's this other guy that treats me like crap and is a real pig but, like a lot of women, I really dig the bad boys who aren't nice to me so you're history'.

Might not be your situation but it's happened to me. And don't try to understand, that way leads to madness. :crying:

or what Bongomania said.

I'll be up front: I think it's a ******** excuse. There's something she's hiding, or something she's scared of. "Hey you're great, but I can't stay." It doesn't make sense. Women may think differently, but they don't think illogically.

Treat her like **** for a bit. Tell her the excuse is lame and absolutely doesn't make sense, insist on a better explanation. Women need to be dominated sometimes. Hell, they LIKE being dominated, it just needs to be done right (why do you think they always end up chasing "bad boys"?) You need to show her that you're a man and that you won't just let this kind of ******** fly... and it doesn't happen by being a tofu farting daisy nice guy.

It'll be tough but I'd say don't go easy on her, any argument that ensues will make you get to know each other better. I would know about this - I had a girlfriend of 1.5 years that was a heroin addict. In the long run, being hard on her and insisting on knowing why she thinks the way she does instead of settling for her excuses shows that you're dedicated to your relationship with her, as well as knowing her better.

Hi.

A phone conversation with one of my girlfriends has me somewhat bewildered.

I'd say this ^.

Women, at least the ones I know, tend to be really posessive. I there's even a slightest possibility of any competition which they automatically assume to be somehow better than them, they likely say something like this.

As said earlier, they don't like their hearts to be broken any more than us gyus do.

There's no way of explaining how people react, that's the beauty of it, I think?

Regards
Sam

Sigh. Another one of these threads huh? Fine.

EDIT: lol wow did I post the wrong picture! Fixed!

i think you might remind her of someone completely inappropriate.

this happens, and it's not a gender thing either.

i remember i was dating a girl in college (at georgia tech, which had a 6-1 ratio of guys to girls at the time), she was really into me (she actually asked -me- out), and she was -smokin hot -, as well as very smart (again, this was georgia tech, i'm talking about. she was a mechanical engineer, and she had a better gpa than i did.)

among her boundless, delightful physical assets, she had a really cute, unique mouth shape, very unique. unfortunately not unique enough. it looked -just like- this guy i went to high school with's mouth, like he could have been her brother. he was a really good friend, which made it worse. i mean, i really dug her -a lot-, but every time we kissed...

it totally ruined it for me. and how do i explain it to her?
