Bugera all tube head

Not a very good copy, considering it's 300w peak. Now if they made an all-tube that was REALLY 300w, I'd pony up the $800 or so it will cost.

Even so, I'll keep tabs on it, even though I have had bad experiences with Behr/Bugera before. 150w all tube at B* pricing is tempting, even if I have to recase, and replace the pots and sockets with non-PCB mounted ones.

SVT's are 240 watts rms. you really couldn't get much more out of GE 6550's. This is debateable as Genelec KT-88's could get passed 400 clean watts rms, but try to find real NOS ones..ouch.

If the driver tube was say a 6L6...or a 12ax7 to drive a pair of 6L6's then driving the 6550's... THEN you got somethin!

You knew they were going to do it.
B* has great distribution channels.
They have the sales volume to be a favorite for the parts suppliers - like tube manufacturers, so they should get quality parts.
Once it hits the US it will be everywhere.
They added DIY bias - less trips to the tech.

No problem with any of my other B* gear.

I've had more than one of the dread B* amps die on a gig. These were keyboard amps... one was only 5 months old... lucky (for them) the warranty only covered 90 days. Never again, says I.

That said the BDI21 sansamp clone i keep in my bag for emergencies has held up great, and still works great whenever we need a last minute DI for an acoustic guitar or something. But I wouldn't want to depend on any of their stuff after my past experiences.

I've had the same experiences, but with powered mixers instead of keys amps and a wah instead of your BD121. If the price is right, I will buy the product, but for the reliability B* has shown is absent from its designs, that price had better be LOW

Warranty is 1 year on keyboard amps. And it outright exchange. Bring in the broken one and leave with a working one. Sounds like your experience was somehow with a used piece of gear maybe? It's not what they currently do.

The tubes are 90 days in these tube amps, but no manufacturer has any better warranty than 90 days for tubes.

It wasn't at the time, that's for sure. I sat there staring glumly at the 90 day warranty card for days. They discontinued that amp right around then and released a new line of them at the same time, I suspect those had the full year warranty. I mean, i can't really complain, the amp cost $199, was reasonably loud and last longer than the 3 months it was warrantied for. That said, I learned my lesson. The other amp that blew up belonged to a bandmate, and i think it lived a little longer, but still. With a failure record of 100% amongst the ones i've played I definitely don't feel the need to go down that road again.

Strange. I have never seen a piece of Behringer gear that did not have their standard 1 year warranty.

I cant believe how they ripped off the svt classic in almost every way, even the identical controls work at the same frequencies. For the $1000 price tag i doubt they will be a big seller when you can get a real b stock svt for the same price with alot better resale value not to mention the real thing.

Yeah i wish that were the case. This was several years back, so who knows.

EDIT: I suppose I could be having some kind of massive cerebral meltdown and maybe it was a year warranty and the amp broke a month or two after that had expired. My memory is dim but i thought it was 90 days. I just remember staring at the warranty card and being pretty angry since i had only used the amp about 5 times.
