That price is an MSRP. It will probably retail around $700-800 I would suspect.

As far as passing judgment on the amp, I am going to wait until they are out and I hear one. I seem to be in the minority that has had nothing but positive experiences with Behringer gear including mics, mixing boards, bass heads, combos and speaker cabs.

If you read the marketing on their website, it is so over the top it sounds like the ol' classic "real, authentic, engineered wood". Um, yeah like I really want particle board.

Bugera...the particle board of valve amps.

That was the exact thing i thought when i read that. bugera has been boasting the bvp5500 like it is an all tube amp since day one. i do own the bvp5500 however and it has been a truly solid amp so far (even picking up a barely used ampeg svt410hlf today for 300 bucks i hope) but they shot themselves in the foot with that above quote!!

anyways, i hope this one works out well for them and these products dont annihilate themselves after a while (including mine of course) like some behringer products have.

There is something here you are all missing...
This has 6 6550 tubes. 6 6550's and they are only getting 300 watts? Shouldn't that be closer to 400 watts?

Then again, that could be the major construction difference that is keeping them from being sued out the ying yang by Ampeg.

You may not like the company, but I think I will at least check this out. If nothing else, it could be a good backup and/or a good amp for someone just getting on the gigging scene.

Another reason to try and support the "new" Ampeg and their renewed focus on US products IMO. What's to differentiate a Vietnam CL and a Chinese Bugera? To some folks, not much. What's the difference between an SLM CL (and hopefully new Heritage CL) and the Bugera? Hopefully a lot...
