What songs can bring a tear to your eye?

My wife passed last September of Covid 19. We had decided that “Somethings last forever after all” by Luke Combs was our favorite song and I still can’t hear it without crying

How many of you have kept your first bass?

My first was a Fender MusicMan short scale. I sold it in 1977 and regretted it ever since. I wouldn’t play it today but I’d like to have it because it was the first electric I owned. PS. I learned on an upright

    Drummer nicknames.....

Played with a great drummer we called “The Foot” for many years. The best I’ve ever heard He could roll on the bass drum with a single pedal. Awesome player!

    NS Designs

I have been playing bass for many years. See that as I am old!! My main player is a MM Stingray but for my bday my wife got me a NS Designs Wav4 that I had been eyeballing. I really do like this new bass it has a sound that none of my collection even resembles. Even my wife says it’s distinctly...

    18 inch bass guitar speakers...

I can’t suggest a 18” speaker but after years of performing I have to respectfully disagree with my peers on TB. I use a Hartley 1800 pro series with a 4-10 top. I really like the sound I get using a 18 cabinet. Each professional on here have over time found “their” sound. Amp. Bass. Cabinet...

..So are the Shure SM58 and SM57 really that rugged and dependable ?

I played in a top 40 country band in the 80’s. Yes Peavey amps (not me) and Shure 57 and 58 mics. The Trace Elliott that I used and the Shure mics are still working great. There are some things that just pass the test of time. Wish the band had!!

    Is it just me?

I bought an Ibanez 5 string back in the 80’s during the big country music Rhinestone Cowboys days. Great bass and good time to be out playing. Many years later different music different style and a MM Stingray that I always wanted I still can go back and bring out the Ibanez and it sounds better...

Is A Tip Jar At A Gig OK? - With Poll

Our band does a number of breast cancer benefits. We always have a tip jar but if we are playing local we donate the entire amount. If we are playing out of state then usually the member coming the farthest is offered the jar. You have to understand that one member lives in Alabama one in SC...

    Would you?

Where you at? If you aren’t interested I’d love it. Country is about feel not charts for the most part. This is an opportunity to play a gig that’s fun and makes you a quick buck. Plus you get to add country band to your resume!!

CDs are pretty much dead... Long Live USB?

This is a bit off topic but I still use cd’s to learn new material. I have Spotify but accessing songs from them to my home system produces a lot of extreme noise when using my IPhone. Just the right side on stereo input. Maybe it’s my phone but cd’s are still relevant for some of us. Am I old??
