Drummer nicknames.....

Coming up with good names for the drummer is half the fun of being in a band. Among my favorites are: Bimbo (not our idea, he had the nickname already), current drummer Dr Milk (real name Ben), and my favorite drummer I’ve ever worked with, Joel Warren, we used to call “Long Pain,” because one night he wanted to call the Doobie Brothers Long Train, but said “long pain” instead and it stuck.

Also played in a band where we called the drummer The Judge. I think this had something to do with the fact that he was a circuit court judge.

I played with a lot of different drummers back in my top 40/rock/country days. I had nicknames for all of them. None I can repeat here. Don't want to get banned. Thank God for Bluegrass music. Now banjo players........................
B.

John "Stumpy" Pepys (1964–1966). Died in a bizarre gardening accident that the authorities said was "best left unsolved."

Eric "Stumpy Joe" Childs (1966–1967). Choked on vomit of unknown origin, perhaps but not necessarily his own, because "you can't really dust for vomit."

Sammy "Stumpy" Bateman (1999–2001). Died trying to jump over a tank full of sharks while on a tricycle in a freak show.

Wrongo.
Nickname of the drummer for a band from
Springfield, MO called the Symptoms. This band morphed into The Morrells(and then the Skeletons), a regional favorite, and one of the greatest bars bands you never heard of, very much like NRBQ. A real bunch of jokers. Helmed by the late, great Lou Whitney(please google him, amazing career), one of the good guys of rock’n’roll. Musicians would come from NYC to the midwest to have him produce them.
Hey I heard of them. They were on the Syd Straw album....War and Peace. The band is/was excellent. If you haven't heard this album check it out. Syd was Miss Fingerwood, the Math Teacher, on the Adventures of Pete and Pete. The album deals with Syd's bad relationship, but the music is darn awesome.

Not so much the drummer, but his carpet, we call it the Housebreaking Pad.

But if we were going to nick the drummer it would have to be:
Yore...

As in:
"Yore too loud, learn some dynamics!"
"Yore coming in early!"
"Yore supposed to stay on the Housebreaking Pad!"
"Yore supposed to have delivered this pizza 30 minutes ago!"
