    on my main 5er i use the heavyest rounds i can without damaging my neck. on my main 4 string i tend to use medium rounds.

    in aus getting a decent amp that cheap is very hard. your looking at combo's? i love my 100watt ashdown. ($575) with a 15" speaker

    half tele-half J bass- half les paul? there isnt 3 half's in a whole. i think you meen thirds? "a third tele-a third J bass- a third les paul" nice bass though

    i find that when i cant think of anything i really want to learn, its easyer to just write your own song. you can also apply all the stuff you have learnt to it.

    for metal players, do you use typically metal basses?

    i just play what i can afford which is only around the $900AU area. pretty hard to find a good bass that cheap but i found one, i think you just have to get a bass that has ALOT of tonal variety cause most people change their tone alot. good to have something fresh i think
