Try an ibanez SR505, or if it fits your budget, an SR1205. I've also read a lot of good things here about ESP-LTDs B series 5 strings.

Nice bass, congrats. This makes me wish ibanez still made higher level SRs with the flat top and p/j pickups (just a personal cosmetic preference, they look sleek with that configuration IMO!).

Sandberg makes them too, but only with active electronics, and not much more expensive than a fender (edit: actually they cost around the same price as am-standard fenders). And you can choose the options you want (colours, matching headstock, top wood...) Invalid Link Removed

Black would be better. Gold looks cheezy to me (unless it's on an all black bass! i think an all black p bass with matching headstock, black pg and rosewood board would look killer with gold hardware!), and i prefer black hardware with natural finish, it looks classy. IMO of course.

^This. Please release a higher-end concert bass, not some low-end weird looking bass. I hope they will someday release a production model of the David Ellefson custom, with the same specs (neck-thru, ebony fretboard, emg p.u. and pre), but cheaper...

Try higher gauge strings, 120-55 is a bit light for BEAD IMO.

I've seen both IRL and i have to say, the olympic white, rosewood plus tort guard looks really good, IMO. I love black/maple basses too, but if i had to choose i'd take the white one. My 0.02

I think that if you want a custom built bass/guitar to sound like a rickenbacker, you should use exactly the same components (pickups, passsive electronics, bridge) and woods; but even with that, it's not guaranteed that this instrument will sound absolutely like a rickenbacker, i'm skeptical...
