That's the exact setting I used to use on my SB-2, like J pickup at 80% and the sound was perfect.

It has a long crack running from the nut under the first 2 frets: Crack on a maple fretboard... I live in France and the seller was in the Netherlands, so I had no possibility to check the trussrod before buying the bass. And he didn't mention the crack at any moment, I noticed it after asking...
