I agree, but then they don't mass produce their instruments, so small inconsistencies are to be expected. One thing I've noticed about their honeyburst finish is that many times there isn't much "burst." It's very subtle, rather rich-looking, like butterscotch, or...well...like honey. This bass looks good, plays good (I'm hoping), and sounds good--the trifecta. Congrats on a great bass at a great deal. Have fun!G&L isn't super consistent with their honey burst lol n my opinion.
