Sometimes I have to wonder if some of these stated weights are accurate, as in weighed on an actual postal scale. Just sayin'...

Without an accurate scale, like postal scale, it's a matter of luck to get the true weight.
OK, I'm not sure +/- 100g is a big deal. Anyway my bathroom scale and the Post Office seem to agree on the weight of my packages.
100g is not a big deal. A whole pound is, so is a half pound, which is +- the accuracy you can expect from a fish scale, a weight watchers scale and "other" scales that aren't meant to be accurate in the 5-15 pound range in the first place.
Besides, no one is singling you out about this, either. Welcome to Talkbass.

No prob. Actually I was responding to a previous post about a someone's 14 pound G&L. I should have quoted the post along with my comment, sorry for the confusion.
Not that there couldn't possibly be one that heavy, but that weight stretches the imagination to wonder if it's not an exaggeration. I'd have to see it on a scale to believe it. T-40's don't even weight that much. Cheers.

Yes, that was always understood. Not seeing why anyone should get defensive about my original comment, it's common knowledge that not everyone weighs their gear on accurate scales. So when a stated weight is wildly out of character, logic dictates one to wonder if that weight was taken on something other than an accurate scale, or any scale at all.

Do you and/or your live sound engineer prefer to mike the bass cab as opposed to using the amp's xlr out? I've always done the latter, even recently going ampless and just using my VT DI pedal into the PA.
I've been asked by my BL about miking the cab instead, but don't really see how it would make much difference.

I haven't played through an amp in almost 5 years now. All of us do that except our drummer--we have to set mikes up on his kit. Mostly, I run through a Trace Elliot Transit B, then XLR out of that (post) into the soundboard. We use in-ear monitors and we each have a tablet to adjust our own monitor sound. Unfortunately we're small scale, so our sound persons are usually just volunteers with little training and sometimes get things wonky. Recently, my bass was turned up so loud in the house mix that, with it turned all the way down in my ears and with my earbuds in, it was still too loud for me. And if things aren't set up correctly and I have to boost the Transit B, it can get pretty noisy. Been thinking of finding a new floor unit, but there's a setting on the Transit B that I really like, and I'm not sure I can duplicate it. One good thing about not using an amp...my back thanks me when I get back home at the end of the night.
I'm just elated about the condition and the price was more than fair..

Another great video. I own 6 Tributes and none of them have imperfections like you mentioned. However, I did receive a JB once that was similar to what you saw. I sent it back. My 3 Tribute LB100s are awesome and they're not going anywhere.

I notice the build sheet says "Honey burst"… Isn't this finish natural or amber? I like it regardless, I'm just curious.
